Oh, I'd say we know a few things. We know construction is going on - we can go see it for ourselves. We know a lot about the building being built - Disney might not have announced it to us, but they announced a lot in their filings. Disney might not have announced that an architectural firm created plans for a DVC at the CR - but those of us who saw them know they exist. We don't "know" anything to be fact until DVC makes an announcement. There is lots of speculation, and investigative reporting here thus far, LOL!
We know a lot more about the CRV than we did about the Grand Californian. We know that a building was designed to be a DVC at the Contemporary Resort. We know that the building going up at the CR has the same basic design as that DVC building. We know the basic floor plan of what is being built at CR - and it's the floor plan used in DVC-like buildings, not the floor-plan Disney uses for other suites, etc.

I am still leaning towards the multi use building speculation such as Grand Californian turned out to be.

You are right, we don't know for 100% certain what Disney is up to. But we do know a lot. Everything we know points to DVC.
If you book less than 7 months out it makes no difference where you own. If you think DVC makes sense for you, delaying is going to cost you more $ for less time and you'll spend cash for resorts while waiting. I can see an argument for waiting if you'd only EVER stay at what is only a rumoured contemp DVC and would usually book more than 7 months ahead of your trip, otherwise buying earlier is going to be a cheaper option and (if you book less than 7 months in advance) your booking availability is the same.I think we are going to wait now. Only worry I have is that maybe the points or the fees are going to be astronomical because of the location.... I could always go resale at one of the other DVC resorts then I guess. I doubt AK will be sold out by then either.
I was planning on waiting for the rumored CRV points to go up for sale. BUT..... I am really falling in love with BWV and BCV on the internet. I have been to BWV but never BCV. Can anyone give me their likes/dislikes on BWV and BCV? Can I walk into Epcot from both BWV and BCV? Thanks!
Yep, and when your eyes are closed all the rooms look the same....If you book less than 7 months out it makes no difference where you own...

This makes me wonder if the lower floors will be guest rooms and the upper floors will be DVC since the announcement and sales may not come until much later.
Doesn't it seem a little strange that there were anouncements for CA and HI but no anouncement for CRV wich is already under construction? HI isnt going to be completed til 2011 and they already anounced it?
I think the logical line of thinking would be that announcing CA and HI will enhance sales at Saratoga and AKV, while announcing the Contemporary would cannibalize those sales. The two non-WDW destinations add variety to the program. The Contemp would make people re-think whether they really want to buy SSR or AKV.
