Many apps are just wrappers on mobile sites.
The website is formatted for mobile devices. You can add a direct link to your Home Screen and basically accomplish the same thing. Many apps are just wrappers on mobile sites.
I sure hope you bet all your money on that Daily Double.1st question - why does DVC have a website that functions erratically and can't consistently complete tasks?
Huh? Disney has lots of apps that cost money and talent. They clearly tricked some developers somewhere into creating apps for WDW, DL, DCL, Aulani, I'm sure a bunch of others. All the ones I've used get updated, and while they don't ALWAYS work perfectly, they're a long way from NEVER working. Why not APP ? It cost money and talent.
No programmer would do it for the pennies Disney would pay them
It would NEVER work or be updated
Agree! I'd much rather they spend the time and $$ to improve the booking engine. They need to let the dwarves go and find more reliable/better trained software maintenance workers - and I wasn't impressed with Stich either!DISboards used to have an app, didn't they? And they gave it up. I literally can't imagine how difficult it is to maintain an app that works with all the different operating systems on all the different mobile devices!
If it’s the one I remember, it was a dismal failure from the start. It was $5 (about 15 years ago) and NEVER did a good job. Was never supported, and never seemed to have much to it.DISboards used to have an app, didn't they? And they gave it up. I don't remember paying for mine, but then again, it was a number of years ago, so maybe I'm remembering the same one. It did function well enough for me to read the forums, but that's all I asked it to do.If it’s the one I remember, it was a dismal failure from the start. At the time I felt a bit ripped off. I’m long over it however.
Than again, we could be talking about something completely different.
Edit: Nevermind, I thought this was “AP” not “APP”Why doesn't DVC have an APP for its members ?
Maybe but wouldn't it save them money to have a great working APP in the long run? They would need less employees to answer the phones. Plus we are paying as members the salaries of those employees. We can demand an APP if we vote for one can't we ?Short answer is, because they dont have to. DVC owners are a trapped audience. They could say the only way to book was via written letter and we’d still have to do it.
You must be new to DVC. Our contracts delegate all management authority to the DVC Management Company (DVCMC), which includes internet operations. Owners wouldn’t vote on anything except a few extremely serious issues concerning the existence of the timeshare. Those issues are so rare (and unlikely to occur) that I can’t even remember what they are.Maybe but wouldn't it save them money to have a great working APP in the long run?
