DVC AP Renewal Policy?

So, I will be turning in my renewal cards on Aug. 8. From the last post I should get 15 months from my renewal date of May?? That would make me very happy.

So I had initially called the number on my annual pass renewal notice that came in the mail to remind me that I had to renew soon. I spoke with a guy who could not give me the answer I needed and could not get through to ticketing to get the answer. He gave me a number for ticket services so I could contact them directly. I finally got through and spoke with someone named Leah. She informed me that this offer does apply to the DVC annual pass renewals. I then double checked with her that if I wait and buy them tomorrow at the higher price that I will get the extra months. She said yes. So I am taking a chance and waiting to buy them after the price increase goes into effect.

I don't understand why you want to wait to pay more for your AP. That makes no sense to me. I'd buy the vouchers today at the cheaper price. (Actually, I bought them yesterday at the cheaper price.)

So you guys think if you HAVE the voucher bought at today's price, when you go to "redeem it" in Oct. it will be good for 15 months?

I'm not sure that they will not go by the purchase date & you would not get but 12 months.

I am sure that's exactly what will happen.

Buy the renewal voucher today and renew your AP with it in the future no matter what the policy is. When you buy the voucher doesn't matter. A voucher purchased before the price increase will still be good to renew your AP under the new policy after August 2.

I think only the two of us did this. I too bought my renewal AP today with my disney rewards points and cc. I've always done it this way. My AP expires in october and I bought my renewal certificate today. I just turn in the certificate when I renew. Done it this way for the last 3 years with no problem.

They add the 3 months on to the end of your AP...mine expires on Nov 29, so when renewing it, it should then expire on Feb 29. It is only for renewals, not for new AP purchases.

Since I could not get a straight answer from either MS at DVC or the CM's at ticketing, I just bought the renewal voucher today and hope the above is true. My passes expire on 12/1 but I wanted to take advantage of the savings. I did that and hopefully when I'm at WDW im mid December, I'll have no trouble renewing with the vouchers for 15 months.

Yes, you can buy them ahead of time, you don't have to wait to be within 30 days of expiration. Yes, you can go to the annual pass section of WDW site and buy the renewals online. That's exactly what I did yesterday. (My DH's AP expires in Dec and mine in April.)

The customer service window Outside the entrance of any of the parks or at downtown disney. I believe the waterpark ticket booths can redeem vouchers too.

Talked to Member Services this morning and he didn't know anything about the 15 month AP renewal policy. I then called Disney's ticketing number and according to the guy I talked to, the 15 month renewal is NOT valid for DVC AP, from what he read. I hope he is wrong.

The problem is that it's not listed on either the "included" or "excluded" list. The Florida Resident AP is a little less than the DVC AP, so I don't see DVC would be excluded. The ones on the excluded list are much cheaper. Hopefully it is just an oversight.

There have been several reports from people who have talked to Disney and have been told that DVC is supposed to be included. Guess we'll have to see what happens when we all go to renew.

The wording on the OPs post does not mention DVC, and it sounds like the man you spoke with from ticketing deduced that the omission meant DVC passes are not included in the extension program. However, that doesn't mean for sure DVC passes are excluded -- It was simply his interpretation.

Example, as shown with the AP referral coupons (recently ended) which also omitted DVC from being mentioned: although the coupon did say it excluded all other discounts - we were there in July, used a referral coupon and were able to purchase our DVC APs with a referral discount without any issue.

Only those involved in the process of developing the 15 month policy such as management or ticket purchase programming will know for sure right now what the system is supposed to do. I doubt any of us have spoken with such a person.

My AP expires on January 23rd. If I renew it does that mean that it would start again on Jan 24th OR does it extend the next time I go to Disney (example.... if I don't go to Disney until March 1st would my pass start up then?) Cause then it would be worth renewing for us.

FL resident has always been a few dollars cheaper.

A renewal does not have a gap, it extends the original date.

I spoke to member services today, and was informed that DVC AP Renewals will be good for 15 months woot! You can either renew your DVC AP on the phone with member services or go to guest relations at one of the four theme parks.

Yes. It's official. I exchanged my renewal will-call certificate at Magic Kingdom this evening and got 15 months with a DVC annual pass.
