Hello All,
I am sure this has been asked and answered, so I apoligize in advance. I have even read Cheshire Figments sticky on the Theme Park boards, but it does not address my exact question.
I have a 7 day Park Hopper, never used, that we purchased from Undercover Tourist. I want to buy a DVC AP. I understand that if you use it once first, then upgrade it to an AP you get the full gate value at the time of the upgrade.
But is this true for the DVC AP as well?
If yes, then what I think we would do is this:
On arrival day we would go to Epcot entering via the IG. I would purchase 1 new AP and the TiW card for myself, and DH would enter using the 7 day PH ticket we have. Then upon leaving Epcot on the way to our villa that afternoon we would stop at the IG Guest Relations? or Ticket Window? and upgrade to the DVC AP.
Do I have this correct?
I assume DH would need to show his blue DVC card, anything else?
Is this the best (most cost effect) solution, or should we save the PH for a future trip and just buy a 2nd DVC AP?
Thanks for your patience.

He'll also need a photo ID -most use their Driver's License, and of course $$ to pay the additional cost, lol.

Depends. Does an AP make sense for you for park admission? In other words, will you spend enough days in a major park during the next calendar year to justify the AP? Also, is the gate price of the 7 day more than the cost of the DVC AP? Policy is that the CMs do not give change for upgrades. The ticket you are getting should cost more than the one you are turning in.

You should to do the math for yourself, but it will probably be a good value to get the AP for your DH if you will be visiting again within a year. The actual math will depend on how many days you will visit in a year as well as the options you bought with the PH. Different equation for PH tickets with no expiration feature than for the one with expiration. (I didn't do the math). :teeth:
