Can someone explain these discounts (or direct me to a thread that's already done it)? Thanks.

The discount is $100 off of AP and $125 off of PAPs. All adults must show photo ID and proof of address. One member of your household must also show their blue DVC membership card when the AP is purchased. The discounted APs may be purchased at any park Guest Services window, or at Guests Services at Downtown Disney and Westside. The downtown Disney location has recently moved, they are now in the building between Arribas Brothers and Team Mickey...where the robots custom paint the shirts.

In the interest of "full disclosure", the discounts Chuck cited are for adult AP/PAP's. The DVC discount for children (3-9) AP passes is $85 and for PAP's is $104. There are also discounts on the renewal rates.

I was reading your question a different way, though. I thought you were looking for the various discounts you can get with your AP's?? If so, here's a link to a good description of them. http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/apass.htm

We are about to become DVC members, just waiting for the closing . :-)

DH has an AP that expires next year. I do not have one. But we will be returning in December.

I have a few questions.

1. Can you only purchase the DVC passes on site, or can you go it over the phone and get vouchers - like they do with regular guest Annual Passes?

2. Are the above mentioned discounts effective all the time (well until Disney changes things) or are they limited to a specific time.

3. I've read threads that DH would be able to turn his current AP in and get a PAP for little or no additional charge.

Thanks for all the advice.

We just converted our AP's to PAP after joining and got money back! So we're already enjoying the benefits of membership!!!

You can get a voucher. You can purchase online via the DVC members' website or you can call MS. I'm not positive, but I think you can also call the regular passholder's number. Be sure to tell them you are a DVC member when you call.

When you exchange yor voucher for the actual pass, you will need to show your DVC blue member card and a photo ID.

The DVC discount on APs/PAPs are in effect until DVC decides to change something. Most here belive they will be in effect at least through 2005. Of course, we are all hoping they continue indefinitely, LOL.

Yes, that's true. The PAP will expire on the same date as the AP he "upgrades".

You're welcome. Congratulations on your DVC purchase and

WELCOME HOME!

Best wishes-

We are new to DVC, first trip is planned for July. We booked OKW for 5 nights, and then were going to stay at a disney hotel for cash to save points for Christmas. We were going to pick up AP as we wil have a total of 19 disney days in the next year.

Questions: I know that the pass clock does not start ticking until the first use (correct?), but I want to purchase early to see about discounts on Hotels for the extra two nights in July. Has anyone had expreience with hotel discounts to DVC members and AP members?

Second question - want to try the $37.99 meal plan, but not sure if its worth it for the way we eat. As such, I wanted to book meal plan while staying at hotel for two days (did not want to by plan for the 5 day OKW portion). However, the web site only offers the meal plan with hotel when buying park tickets with hotel - of course I will be an AP holder. Has anyone overcome that hurdle?

Third - see that there is a dining card you can pick up with AP for $50 that gives 20% discount. Is this a better deal than the meal plan? I do not know how much I can eat on a day, so not sure which is better?

Any feedback and expreience would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

The clock starts ticking when you exchange the voucher for the actual pass even if you do not enter a park that day. If you buy an actual pass at a park window, it starts ticking immediately.

You would have to buy at least a 1 day pass with the package. I've heard you can exchange the 1 day as a credit toward your AP.

It's now $60.

Does the voucher expire? Can I renew my AP now(expires 2/4/06) and not use the voucher until 11/2006 and still have a full years pass(until 11/2007)??

A renewal starts on the renewal date, regardless of when you exchange the voucher. If your current AP expires 2/4/06, your renewal would start 2/4/06.

If you don't want it to start on the renewal date, you need to buy a new pass, not a renewal.
