I just noticed the year "2005" in the description on the DVC site of the AP/PAP discount:
Walt Disney World Annual Pass Discount Now Available!
Disney Vacation Club Members and their immediate family (living in the same household) are eligible to receive discounts on new and renewed 2005 Walt Disney World® Annual and Premium Annual Passes.

perhaps it has always been there, but it just caught my eye.
Anyone think this perk may only be around for 2005?

Probably depends on whether or not the beancounters are happy with the financial results generated by the AP discount. IMO, it should take them 2 or 3 years to truly realize the impact of the discount. So, unless they decide it has been a total bust, I'm hopeful they will decide to extend the discount.

The notice was posted in December. I believe the intent of the wording was to let folks know that anything purchased in 2004 would not be discounted, only media purchased in 2005 would be.

Almost all our perks expire at the end of each year and are "renewed". This holds true even for the World of Resort program. I'm sure they want to be sure this works to their satisfaction and allow themselves a yearly "out" even if they do continue the program.

Since vouchers don't expire, I may just purchase ours by the end of the year to be sure we catch the discount for next year.

thanks!

I would have like to see a lifetime pass for DVC members. After all we are comitted to wdw for the next 40-50 years or so unless we sell up! I am really greatful for this yearly AP discount though.

yep, that's what we did - bought our passes - received credit card looking vouchers that we will use this summer. ;)
