DVC AP Discount and MB/FP+

Okay, I was just looking at the the DVC AP discount on the DVC website. We have purchased this ticket before and IIRC they send you a voucher which you redeem at the park to activate the AP. How does this work in conjunction with FP+? Does this mean you can not get any FP+'s until after you get to a park for the first time? If so, that is not good (obviously). I apologize if this has already been discussed to death.

You would also still need to visit a park ticket window or guest relations location to exchange for the actual AP since the voucher is not valid for park entry. This exchange should not affect your FP+ selections.

To do this quick and easy go to the Window at Disney Quest. Especially if you go first thing in the morning or later at night...

Just don't request any voucher be mailed to you. There is no reason to do that and yet to understand why anyone does it.

Simply go to Disney tickets, online and order your tickets. You will be sent by email a confirmation of purchase with a will call number.

Use that number to book your Fastpass+.

When you arrive, take your Will call email, your ID, your member card and your magicband to any park guest services and get your annual pass activated to your band. They will also give you a hard copy plastic card too.

Everyone in your group needs to be there to do this.

Well finally someone that can explain the reason, for the life of me I could not imagine why anyone would want a voucher instead of will call.

If you purchase your tickets individually online you could do that, but you would have to split the purchases.

We were just there last week and they did not give us a hard copy. We used the DVC card for discounts but were told we could not get the AP discount with just our magic band. Are you sure we can get a card also? I would like to know this for our summer vacation. Thanks

Yes, you can request a card as well. Though they just gave cards to me when we went in December....

They will have to give you a card. I just got my 'its almost time' email from Disney and it states:

'Member affiliations are not associated to your MagicBands. Be sure to bring your Membership Cards, IDs and Passes with you to get your benefits throughout your stay.'

We just activated our DVC APs this past November. We got a card for our AP.

If they refuse to give you one, ask for a Supervisor and mention that you need the card to get the discount.

That said, it's possible that by June, the merchants will be able to use the MDE info accessed by your MB to validate that you are eligible for the AP or DVC or TiW discounts. If so, I'm very sure we will hear about it on the DIS. FWIW, I do not think this capability will be there in time for your summer trip.

Yes I'm sure that you can still get an ap card. The card is required for discounts and parking. And all the Passholder material they have sent out says you still need your card. And has never said anything about MB replacing Passholder cards
