DVC Annual Pass

We recently did a 25 pt add on...want to get the kids Annual Passes for our trip in May...can we buy now and not "activate" until May or do we need to wait?

Also, my wife and I are already AP holders (not DVC discount)...the current promo is for the Plat Plus pass, right? Can we at least get ours upgraded to that level?

Not sure if anyone has experience in these 2 areas. Thanks.

You can purchase them now and wait to activate till the day you arrive. For the current promotion of platinum plus at gold price they must be activated by Dec 31st 2018. We aren't going till next December for our first DVC trip so we're buying the passes now and will just hold them to activate in early December next year.

Yes -- you can buy an AP now and park them on your MDX profiles. They give you a confirmation number over the phone when you buy them -- after that, go onto your MDX page and add it on. Once you get to the parks, you'll have to go to guest services to activate the ticket. Make sure you have your DVC blue card and a photo ID (I believe the whole family will need to be with you -- so don't plan on doing it by yourself while the wife and kids are back at the resort).

Yes -- you can upgrade your gold pass to platinum level. I just did this back in october. One thing to note, if you currently have the 13 month gold promo -- make sure that they don't mess with your end date. When they upgraded mine, they initially screwed up the ending date and I almost lost a bunch of fastpasses. I had to go back to guest services the next day and get it corrected.
