Hello Everybody!
I saw where people who bought annual passes before the change are getting upgrade to the Gold Pass at no addtional charge. Anyone here know if this is true for DVC Annual passes as well? The thought is the old passes are not recognized anymore when being activated.

Unactivated vouchers are being exchanged as follows:
  • Annual Pass (AP) vouchers are being exchanged for the Platinum Pass
  • Premium Annual Pass (PAP) vouchers are being exchanged for the Platinum Plus Pass

Technically, Gold is not an upgrade since it has blockout dates.

So if you purchased your ticket (voucher) before this last AP change/increase for an upcoming trip that now falls in the December blackout time frame, you still have to pay the difference for the Platinum?

My understanding if the vouchers are redeemed at Platinum level with no black out dates

They are redeeming them as I posted above (Post #2) at no additional charge.

I just renewed my AP and had a problem on the WDW site. it wouldn't give me the option of renewing as a Gold Pass. I am a DVC member and this info is on my account profile. Since I don't anticipate going to WDW during Christmas, Easter and Spring Break I didn't really feel the need for a Platinum Pass and the extra expense. FYI, I was able to renew as a Gold Pass only by talking to member services with no issues.

Someone was saying that all renewals have to be done over the phone. Only initial purchases can be done online.

I just did this last week and really enjoyed getting the photo pass stuff for free. Honestly I wouldn't pay for it otherwise. In the future I will go with gold but for the next year my family and I will enjoy the premium pass.
