What is the current discount for DVC members for the Annual Pass ? Where do you purchase them, and do you need your photo taken ? If you do need your photo taken, where is that done ? Does it become "active when you purchase it, or when you first use it ?

How do you redeem a certificate for an 11 and 13 year old who don't have a photo ID ??

Thanks !

the DVC discount is $100 off an adult ticket and I am not sure about the child ($75 off maybe)? We bought ours at Downtown Disney Guest Relations and they are active at that the time you purchase them. No photos are taken.

Yes, it's $100 off the regular Annual Pass ($295 instead of $395), and $125 off the Premium Annual Pass ($390 instead of $515). The Premium AP also gets you into PI, DQ, and the water parks. These prices don't include tax, which I think is 6.5%

Anyone over 10 years old has to pay the adult price.

That comes to $314 with tax. Just paid it last Sunday.

How do you handle the teens who have no photo ID ? The DVC Disney Website states that "All Adults must show photo ID when presenting the certificate for the Annual Pass".

Actually, this is not 100% correct. If you purchase them over the web, they activate on your first day of use. You'll be sent vouchers which will be traded in at WDW (several locations) for the actual passes.

Now, if you renew, the renewal always starts the day after the old pass expires.

If I have a one day ticket how can I turn it in to get a credit towards the AP? I read that you could do this for purchasing other tickets just not sure if, where and when I can do it for the DVC AP.

Also which website can I order from (if I decide not to try to turn in the one day ticket)?

I am interested also as to what kind of identification is required for those in the under driving years of age who do not have a photo ID !

Whats your experience ????

Okay, goofy "what would you do" question. We have the annual pass vouchers that were offered as an incentive to purchase at SSR a while back. My plan was to exchange those for PAP's in November and get three trips (about 30 days) out of the passes. We've never had PAP's before, so I like the idea of not having to pay extra for them. Of course, the other side of me is thinking we should buy new AP this year at the DVC discount price and save the vouchers for next year. Why? Because I'm a paranoid freak who's afraid that the DVC discount will go away before I take advantage of it! And, prices will surely go up early next year as they always do. Am I being ridiculous? I'm trying to figure which makes the most sense financially.

I think the thing is, you don't need a photo id for a minor, even though minors over the age of 10 pay the same price as adults. Just guessing, but I'm pretty sure that's right.

I hope you are right, but I don't want to find out when we are down there trying to convert the certificate to the AP. Then if it can't be done, we have to buy another set of passes for the kids.

Minors who do not have driver's liscenses do not need photo ID. I have my DS (13-looks 18) bring his school id and I bring a copy of both of the children's birth certificates. DD looks her age so I don't have a problem there.

Both my boys look there age (11 & 13), so I guess I need not bring any ID. Right ?

We went to Magic Kingdom Guest Relations for our passes... what a mistake!! If we had known the lines would be soooooo long, I would have omcplete the transaction before leaving home. Cast members came through the line asking people if they were picking up passes. We purchased the PAP about $412 w/ tax per pass.

One other perk that can be added for $50, if you are interested... Disney Dining Experience. This can NOT be added while at Disney. We tried everything, but to no avail...

take the friendship boat from bwv or bcv to the back entrance of epcot. They will sell you the annual pass. You must have your dvc number to verify for the discount. She even gave me an fast pass for soaring at that booth. There was no one at all at the counter buying tickets. Then we walked right into epcot. :flower:

You wont need identification for your 11 and 13 year olds. If you were trying to buy them CHILDREN's passes and they looked 11 and 13, you might have to bring a birth certificate, but Disney is aware that most 10-16 (and I believe it actually extends up to 18) don't have identification.

Coastie - You CAN buy the DDE while onsite. You have to call Disney Dining and order it and you will go to guest relations at EPCOT to pick up a temporary letter. The only time constraint is that Disney Dining is open standard business hours, Mon - Friday, so if you arrive over the weekend, you cannot order the DDE card until Monday (not sure if its 8 or 9 when they open - I think 8-5).

A great place to activate your DVC discounted APs is the Guest Relations at DTD. Usually not very busy compared to the lines that are sometimes at the park Guest Relations.

Right! You'll be fine. Have a great vacation.

No one responded to the question about using a left over pass towards the purchase of a new AP. I have one day left on a pass and if I thought I could use that towards a AP I would do it. Please let me know. :rolleyes1

Thanks lllovell... I wish I had known about the DDE temp letter. The dozen or so cast members AND Disney Dining did not have any idea. I will know better for our next 9 day trip... $50 was nothing compared to the amount of $$$$ spent on dining out!

Additional comments for the next survey.

Yes you can use the old ticket towards a DVC AP. Any Guest Relations location (parks or DTD) can do this for you. They will swipe your old ticket and tell you what credit is available to be used and then apply it towards the price of the DVC AP. If it's a one day ticket, you should get full price. Make sure you bring your blue DVC member card and a photo ID with you when you go to do this.
