DVC Annual Pass Question

Can you use a Disney Vacation Account to purchase the DVC annual passes?

Yes.

If you call MS to order the passes, they may not know what the DVA is. If they are confused about the DVA, tell them it's a Disney Gift Card (since that's basically how the DVA works).

If your DVC information is linked to your MDE profile, the on-line order process at disneyworld.com will let you use the DVA. The payment option is Disney Gift Card or Disney Vacation Account.

Interesting. Could a DVA be a work around to the gift card issue?

Since you can not combine multiple gift cards into one gift card, and many purchases can only be made with 2 types of payments, it gets hard to pay for some things with only gift cards.

I wonder if this is a way around that? Does anyone know?

It would be nice, since target only sells 50$ gift cards.

The DVA can be funded using Disney Gift Cards (except for initial deposit which must be to a major credit/debit card).

Just an FYI: the DVA can't be used to purchase DVC or to pay Annual Dues.

But you can buy park tickets? Etc?

In the past, for example, I purchased tickets to MVMCP. I could only use 2 payment methods. So I used 1 50$ gift card, and my CC to cover the rest.

If I can do it with a DVA funded with gift cards, it would be a great option.

That's what I planned on doing. How small can the initial deposit be? And if I make the initial deposit with my Disney Premier Visa, does it qualify for 2% reward son the card?

For anyone else interested, the minimum initial credit card contribution is $10. It looks like buying tickets even qualifies for a bonus $20 Disney gift card for every $1000 spent on qualifying purchases. Tickets are listed as a qualifying purchase for the bonus.

Do you know if you get the Bonus Reward if you use DVA to purchase DVC AP?

Per https://disneyvacationaccount.disney.go.com/questions/#bonus you should, but I wasn't to confirm people actually had (due to DVC MS processing DVA as a "gift card", which might not show up as a qualified vacation purchase):
Qualified vacation purchases include vacation packages for the Walt Disney World Resort or the Disneyland Resort, theme park tickets, room stays, cruise fare, and vacations by Adventures By Disney. Purchases of Disney Gift Cards are not qualified vacation purchases for purposes of this Bonus Program.

Also, is it possible to purchase AP from Guest Services in the park with DVA?

Thanks! :thumbsup2
