DVC Annual pass discount?

I just got off the phone with MS and was told it is only up to 30 days prior and up to 30 days after the AP expire date

And all that proved is they say stuff. My experience with MS is if it is not DVC related take it with a grain of salt

A week after my AP expired this summer Disney mailed me am offer to renew at the renewal price. B

The passholder website says 60 & 30:
Plus, you receive a renewal discount when you renew your Walt Disney World Annual Pass. Passes may be renewed up to 60 days before or up to 30 days after your Anniversary Date. But don't delay! Because whether you renew by your Anniversary Date or any time up to 30 days after, your renewal Pass will still expire 12 months after your original anniversary date.

If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in the TPA&S Forum, especially Post #15-G, you can get a lot more information. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. The ticket sticky is your friend!

If they would do it I would go for it instead of getting the tickets with my daughters band group next year. I doubt if they would do it two years in a row though.

When do you think that will be?

I would like to go with the PAP if they offer it on a special like that, but at the same time, with the new FP+, that window opens for me on 10/1 so i need the passes by then if i want to use FP+

Your guess is as good as mine, LOL.

Keep in mind that there are still people who have yet to redeem their $399 vouchers for the actual pass. They have until 12/31/2013 to do so - it could be more than a year before all the data is in.

The last offer was announced in late September, 2012, but it didn't take effect until 10/1/2013.

OK, so we didn't consider buying last year as we weren't expecting to get to WDW before the end of this year, of course our plans have now changed :) Can anyone tell me what the cost is of a regular AP with DVC discount? We don't visit over peak holidays and doubt we would go to a water park so I'm guessing unless it's cheaper there would be no benefit to a PAP?

I have one voucher sitting here that gets activated during Food &Wine and I am sure I am not alone :)

Ok so question... When my anniversary comes around I have to renew at WDW? Can I do it on the DVC website and be done? Do I actually have to go to WDW within the 90 day window? (60 before & 30 after)

We bought two PAP's last year and activated them at last years F&W. Heck yeah that means we have been to WDW much more often than previous years. We find ourselves checking airfare and then just coming down for a quick weekend.

in fact we are going this weekend and then will go again in October before they expire. I think this time we will just buy the Tables in Wonderland. We really could use that discount as that is what most of our spending at WDW amounts to. I mean how many Tinkerbell shirts do I need?

I' pretty sure it's 30 and 30 and not 60 and 30. What I am very sure of is the fact that you can most certainly renew over the phone unless things have changed just recently. Of course, you will have to pick up the new tickets on site the next time you are there, which can be anytime from expiration (renewal) day + 366.

If it hasn't been expanded to 60 days already, it should be soon.

The whole MyMagic+ / FastPass+ system will give guests 60 days prior to arrival to book attraction ride times. Valid theme park admission will have to be tied to one's account in order to schedule those ride times.

If guests had to wait until 30 days prior to expiration to renew an AP, there would be some situations in which folks would have to wait a few weeks beyond their 60 day FP+ window because they couldn't yet renew their AP.

Standardizing it at 60 days is the logical approach.

It is a perk that should be continued. Dvc members spend so much money at Disney. It is the least they could do.

Keep in mind, DVC AP's are already $146 off regular price. That increased last year from $100 off. They have already done quite a bit, matching Florida Resident price, about 25% off.

Remember that if you renew, your year of admission will begin on the day your current pass expires - NOT the day you next enter a park, and NOT the day you exchange the voucher for the actual pass or pick up the actual pass (with will-call).

Sometimes it is better to let a pass expire and buy new. Just depends on when you next plan to go.
