DVC and Pool Hopping

Hi there all!

We are off to visit AKL, SSR and BLT on our first DVC Trip next month and were wondering about Pool Hopping.

I vividly remember being told that we can't Pool Hop to the All-Stars, but what other resorts are we definitely not allowed to have a dip in?

Yeah, I'm an owner!

And Yeah, I probably look at the Member site 3-4 times a week!

And Yeah, I just realised what a case of the "stoopid" just came over me

there are blackout dates, but the short answer is that you can not hop into BLT, Kidani, and Beach Club's Stormalong Bay

If you really had your heart set on hopping to a value pool, I bet they'd let you..... not sure why you'd want to, but I bet you could pull it off.

You can't hop to any pools at AKV (Jambo House or Kidani Village). If staying at AKV, you can use the pools at both buildings.

Here's the info currently on the website.

Pool hopping is not available at the pools at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Uzima Pool and Samawati Springs Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, and the leisure pool at Disney's Beach Club Villas.

Often such lists over the years have also included all the YC/BC pools. Other than AoA, the other values are open to pool hopping subject to the other conditions and blackout dates.

Member Privileges > Member Perks > WDW Resort > Recreation > Water Activities

with the value resorts - remember you need to bring your own towels.

with the moderates you can still get towels at the pools (I think).

looks like the BC and YC leisure pool are back on the list?

Do you know if you have to be staying DVC to hop or is just being a member enough. We are checking into to aoa for 2 nights before staying in our "home". Can we hop while checked in at AOA.

Yes, you have to be staying at a DVC Resort. See 'Pool Hopping Information' in column 2 of the Portable Perks linked to below:

You have to be staying at DVC on points (cash through MS is points). Being a member and staying at DVC resorts on another method does not count nor does just being a member staying at non DVC even if on points.
