Are there any DVC discounts for special event nights?

Yes, on selected dates. Check over on the theme parks board for the dates.

If you go through dvcmember.com and click on the link where you can look at the annual pass discounts (member perks, @ disneyworld). Annual pass savings and more magic, then click annual pass savings, at the bottom it says to buy tickets online at walt disney world store... Well if you click that link it takes you to disneyworld.com to the area where you can buy tickets.. Click the little box near the top that says browse available tickets and change it to special events. That will bring up the tickets for MNSSHP. Prices should be $49.95 for adults and $43.95 for children.
The dates and prices listed there will be DVC member prices. To make sure you are in the correct place there will be a paragraph at the top that says:

All prices listed are before tax.
*Entertainment is subject to change without notice.
**Proof of Disney Vacation Club Membership and valid photo ID for all adults in same household required.

There may be an easier way to do this, but that is how I did it.

AP & DVC discounted special event tickets will always be will call only. This is to ensure that only those eligible for the discount pick them up.
