DVC and Fort Wilderness Campground

Can you use points for the campground at Fort Wilderness? I thought that I heard a few years ago that it was difficult but limited availablity.If it's true is there a point chart available?

In 2010, you can use your points for a campsite. Anywhere from 8-20 points per night depending on the day of the week and the season.

I have a friend who used points for FW. She did have a hard time with availability even booking early.

That was what I had heard some years ago, but now that we'll be DVC owners I wondered if we could stretch some of the points out and take the RV along for a March road trip. We enjoy spring training and the grapefruit league action as well as the races and bike week at Daytona. The promise of Disney provides a nice pit stop that keeps the kids from squawking.

Just wanted to point out there is a rumor that DVC will be coming to the FW area. On the camping board, someone posted a PDF showing changes coming to FW.

At this point, it's nothing more than a rumor.

If DVC does build at FW, there is a chance they may ban using points at FW campground. Typically, once DVC goes in at a resort, the adjacent facilities can no longer be booked on DVC points. For example, DVC members used to be able to use points at CR. Once BLT went in, points could no longer be used at CR.
