DVC and dining question...

We are staying for 7 nights at AKV In December. We are thinking of going with the dining plan.

We got 5 day base tickets through the military special of $95 a ticket.

Now does that mean we have to get the dining plan for our length of stay? Or can we get it added for those 5 days only that we have tickets for?

It has to be for the length of your stay.

I do believe it is for the length of your stay. One good thing is you could double up on some meals a few days.

Dining plan needs to be for the length of the reservation. If you're set on 5 days, you could always split your stay into two separate reservations.

Down side is that you'll have to check out and back in, and could very likely have to change rooms. Also, because you're inside the 7-month window, you'd need to ask if there is availability for those two nights before you cancel them and re-book. (You wouldn't want to cancel the two nights to rebook, only to find that someone with a waitlist snatched them from you.)

You just need to determine which is the lesser of two evils for you. Would you rather pay for the two extra days of dining plan, or deal with having multiple reservations?
