Do DVC members get discounts on the ship as if it were Disney property? I plan on getting a Dooney and Bourke bag and a DVC discount would take a good bite out of the price.

Your best bet for current discount information is to look at the member site. Discounts and promotions are always changing.

I just took a quick look, this is the only DCL shopping discount I saw:

Disney Vacation Club Members can save 10% on select merchandise purchases of $50 or more aboard Disney Cruise Line ships. This offer is valid at the following shops:

• Mickey's Mainsail
• Mickey's Mates
• Radar Trap
• Sea Treasures
• Treasure Ketch
• Vista Gallery
• White Caps
• Whozits & Whatnots

If the DVC discount works like the Disney Visa discount, you should be able to use it.

Does the discount only apply if it is one item at $50 or more, or can you pool items to add up to more than $50 so that you can get the discount on all the items?

Your total purchase has to equal $50 or more. You can buy five $10 items and still get the discount.

Yup I used my DVC discount when I purchased some items from the onboard store last month.
