DVC ALWAYS charge closing costs to first time buyers?

If we purchased BWV via Disney we would not have had a closing cost. But for BLT, SSR, and AKL there was a closing cost.

I did not have closing costs with SSR. I didn't think there were closing costs on any purchases through DVC (unless this is something new).

I am purchasing BLT and the way it was explained to me was fees that go to the state of Florida and other doc fees. Someone I work with purchased at BLT this summer and his closing costs were waived (in addition to discounted price per point)

We bought 160 OKW points in February 2009 from disney- we paid no closing costs.

DVC members purchasing add-on contract(s) through Disney are presently not charged any closing costs/fees.

For first time buyers there will be closing costs/fees with exception being purhasing points from some of the earlier DVC resorts.

I am not sure exactly when it started but I think it was about three years ago when Disney started charging closing costs to new purchasers. Before then it never charged closing costs to any purchasers, new or add-on. Exisitng members still pay none when they add-on and I believe new purchasers of the older resorts also do not get charged.
