DVC Add-on Promotion for current members ?

Hello,

Can someone tell me when does the current add-on promotion for members end? Also, my guide is unavailable until 6/16, but his message say current deals will be honored as of the date/timestamp of when you leave your message. Does that sound right to you guys? I would hate to miss out of the current promotion (Unless the new promotion is BETTER !)

The add-on promotion ends on June 19. I believe the prices for non-members went up on June 5.

The current incentive (as I understand it) is for 120 or more points at SSR only: $95-$8 = $87 + no maintenance fees for the remainder of 2005 + 100 free one-time vacation points. [EDIT: That would be 120 X $97 = $10,440] That is for '05 use year points.

If '04 points are still available for your use year, you have the option of getting them too. That deal is $95-$5 = $90. There is no maintenance on the '05 points, but you do pay maintenance for the '04 points, and the 100 free points go into your '04 use year.

[EDIT: The '04 deal would give you 120 '05 points + 120 '04 points + 100 free points in your '04 use year for 120 X $90 = $10,800 + about $458 maintenance on the '04 points for a grand total of $11, 258.]

I'm not clear on where those 100 points go, but I think they go into your original DVC contract. So, for example, my original contract is OKW -- I'd buy the SSR points, but those 100 freebies would go into my OKW contract. I doubt if that would make much difference in most cases.

Hummm... So if you take the 120 + 120 +100 points for a cost of $11,258 with dues. Then rent them for the low, but 'standard' $10 each. Your cost becomes a very good $65.49 a point. That sure beats any resale price I've seen.

My dh and I were about to add on the 120 pts. but were not told by our guide that '04 might be available. If they are, how do you handle these points. Can I use them in January? Do they expire soon? Can they be banked? Our use year is March which means that the banking window for '04 would be closed as I understand it? Help!

abbysmema: Could you call your guide back and get the answers to the questions above (my guide is not in)? Getting '04 points sounds interesting, but like you, my use year is March and I don't understand how that would work either.

I think the '04 points option only applies if you are not yet in your '05 use year. My use year is October, so mine was available.

However, check with your guide to be sure.

I did the add on and got '04 and '05 points no MF at all until '06 at $90 per point. The points are bankable. My UY is Sept.

That's fantastic JimMIA & dismem98 ! I just got off of the phone with someone from the sales office and was told basically what you said JimMIA . But that's okay, I'm going to be a DVC member for a long time and I'm sure I'll be able to pick up a great deal like you two did at some point .

BTW...The deal I'm getting (120 '05 pts + 100 free points + no '05 dues + $8 discount) is a good deal, so I'm not complaining !
