Hello WDWStar! Can't believe it's this time already. I will be happy to donate a tree again this year. don't think DH and I will be going in Dec as we have a 10 trip in Oct. (unless Genie grants our wish for more points and cheap airfare! )

We are willing to provide a second tree at Bay Lake. We were fortunate to participate in the sharing experience at Saratoga Springs last year and feel like we should step up at our new DVC home. We'll be at Bay Lake Dec. 1-9. We have the basic idea of what to do, but please let us know details as necessary and forgive us if we have to ask a question or two before sending.

This seems like fun! I don't know if I will be able to donate this year (maybe next year), but I would like to take part in the exchange to learn how the flow goes this year! I will keep my fingers crossed when it is time!

To donate a tree (if you are flying) do you ship it to the resort, how much is shipping and how do you pack a tree....

Yes, you ship to the resort. The cost will depend on the weight of your box.
Last year the box I shipped ran approx. $28.00 each way. If you ship a box you will place an envelope in the box and other families on the list should donate towards the shipping. The last person to have the tree is responsible for shipping it back to your house, using the money necessary (leaving the rest in the envelope)to ship it. Some people take it to a UPS location, others have the resort ship it.
People pack various ways; I decorate my tree, wrap it in bubble wrap, put it in the box along with extra lights and extra decorations, packing tape, a list of the people receiving the tree, and instructions for the last person on the list for shipping it home.

There will be detailed instructions later and how to mark your box, etc.
