VWL Tree #2 was delivered this afternoon! I'm looking forward to hearing how all the exchanges go this year!

The current D23 magazine has an article about the decorations at WDW and the outher Disny parks. In the first part, Setting the Scene, it concludes by explaining that guests themselves create decorating magic, and members of Disney Vacation club and campers at Ft. Wilderness are credited with doing just that on their balconies and at their campsites. Thank you :santa: wdwstar and your elves for organizing the project.

Note to self:

Hey dummy remember to bring the 2 boxes of LED lights for balcony!
Thanks,
Chris

This is our first holiday season at WDW. We're staying at VWL and we are on the list for a tree.

If we decorate the studio balcony, do I need an extension cord? Do folks run it through the balcony door or is there a place outside to plug into?

TIA

Well, such as it is . . . here it is . . . Beach Club Villas Tree #2! Poor little thing. It's been taken apart and put back together so many times, it's not even funny. I've had a devil of a time finding a box.

In fact, when it gets to the BCV it'll be packed in two separate boxes -- the top in one; the bottom in the other -- and both pieces will be swathed in bubble wrap. :rotfl: What an adventure! This sure has been fun!

Oh, and I'm shipping tomorrow. The estimated arrival date (I'm told) is next Wednesday. Happy holidays, all!

There isn't an outlet on VWL patios.

I know that we put 2 extension cords in our box. I've only put lights on the inside of the slider, I never put them outside, but I know people do.

Thanks Bobbi. How do you attach the lights to the slider?

John

We don't have children..we drape the lights, they aren't attached. What we do wouldn't be a good idea with children, I'm sure, because they could pull, or wrap around their necks or they could hurt themselves. So...maybe using the extension and stringing the lights on the balcony is better, but then wouldn't you have to leave the slider opened? That's a dilemma for me. At any rate, when we're out, the lights are on, the drapes opened, and usually we have the tree centered in the slider, we smile and are pleased when we see our "home."

Oh, I just remembered that once I found little suction cups and strung the lights on them...don't know where the little things are now.
