DVC 6th year Christmas Tree, Sharing a Little DVC Holiday Magic

just arrived this morning at BCV (they even had a room for us at 11 a.m.!) and had our tree (tree #1) delivered a few hours later. What a wonderful addition to our room (didn't realize it even has lights!)

Surprisingly, I've been feeling a bit melancholy being here and away from our family back in Detroit for the holidays. This tree is helping to make it seem more like home!

Just an FYI, we are at SSR now and bell services has not been able to find our tree. It's SSR #4. I will go down and ask again today, but it is not looking good:sad2:
 
dvcmommy, Please talked to a different Bell service at SSR, maybe they know where the tree #4 is sitting, you can also try the front desk. But the tree should be picked up and dropped off at bell service, unless you are the last family then the tree should be shipped back to the owner.
 
DH and I were just talking about this this morning. The planning, sending, receiving, (we had your wonderful BCV tree back in November) and now anticipating OUR NYE trip and getting the BWV tree has extended the fun and memories of this great season for us! I was able to meet canwegosoon who helped with our BWV tree at WDW earlier this month. It's been a great experience. Thank you again...and well, DH and I were just narrowing down our dates for next December, that will be a VWL year for us!!!

We are here at BWV, listening to our Grand Floridian Orchestra Christmas CD and enjoying the wonderful tree from Bobbiwoz and canwegosoon!

We just love the lights and the tree. It was so nice to surprise DH and DD with this yesterday.

Uh oh..SSR tree #4 can not be lost!! We left it with an extra claim ticket...hopefully Haleofafamily left it in the same manner. If you can bring up a picture of the box..try to show them.they are back in this thread a little ways...it still had all the stickers on it....also, there is a pre-paid shipping label in the box to send it back home to us.....make them scour bell services area because it took a little while for them to find it for us.

This is our rest day so I plan on going back and asking again. I guess I can take my laptop w/ the picture. They asked if it would be under another name becasue they could not find a tree box with our name? I don't know what will happen, but we will try again!

Be persistant, it took Bell Services plus front desk cm's over 2 days to find our tree, but they did find it.
 
The tree box had the name on it on the side with Year of A Million Dreams Stationary and your name was definitely on it. I will also pm you my name because that is what is on the shipping label. Did they say they have a tree box there that says SSR tree #4 all over it?
 
FYI folks, OKW #3 Tree was located somewhere at OKW because it was finally delivered. I just called OKW and asked to be transferred to living la vida mickey's room. I was about to start a resort by resort search.....like I have time for this after digging ourselves out of two blizzards this weekend.

Anyway, living la vida mickey's husband said the tree was finally located by someone at the front desk last night and delivered to their room around 10pm. So it's been missing for 8-10 days and it finally appears out of no where? I've asked living la vida mickey to mark the box with larger print on all sides OKW#3.

Thank goodness, I was really bummed about losing it. So don't lose hope. The SSR#4 tree will be found. It's there somewhere.
 
Last year I sent 3 trees down and only 1 complete tree, and 2 halves came back. So those are the 2 trees I sent this year.

I hope I get everything back this year like I did the first two years I sent trees down.
 
Laurabearz I didn't have any trouble either the first year I did this in 2006. None of the 2-3 trees I sent was ever lost for even a day and mine all came back with everything in tact. I'm not sure what to do differently.
 
Does anyone think it will help if I call the resort? DVCmommy, did you find it? Does anyone think that someone other than who the tree is intended for are taking them out of bell services?

IMHO it's just the amount of items being sent down, AND sometimes when a box arrives it's put away then the next shift of CM's arrive and they have no idea where someone before them put a box.

In our case (I shipped AKV tree #3, also was the first to get it), a CM from ...I think it was landscaping, signed for it and had stashed it away somewhere. It was eventually located and delivered to our room (yay).

WDW deals with a huge amount of freight, so I don't find it too strange that some boxes are hard to locate. I know that in our case they were trying very hard to locate our tree, it just took a while to finally find it.
 
I think the resit f the DVC resorts should follow in the BCV bell service steps.
the BCV bell service keep the tree boxs right by the bell service stand, very easy to locate even for a new employee.

Could you imagine if we shipped our clothes in box down to the resort :scared1:

Ok, I just received a mesg from the Haleofafamily..she got sick and never picked up the tree so it should be in guest services with a separate claim ticket on it. The box was dropped off on 12/13 for her and probably got buried. We were the ones that dropped it off and that was about 1:30pm on Saturday, 12/13. Hopefully this helps!!!

We just want to make sure the box gets back to us because our mickey wreath is in there and it was my christmas present last year from DH.

Also, hopefully DVCmommy can have it for Christmas.
 
Good resolution, I just spoke to Phillip at Bell Services and he has the tree and will make sure that DVCmommy gets it. They have to be in the room for it to get there. He is going to get the room number from guest services. I explained to him that it was imperative that it make it to her because they are the last family on the list.

Pray for pixie dust that this all gets worked out!
 
We have our tree...well we got it a couple days ago! Love it! Love that the box is so small and lightweight. The one we had two years ago was very heavy and large.

Window clings are up on the window, so cute...though they are torn up a bit, but once up they look fine.

There are only two $5 bills in the shipping thing. How much are we supposed to put in there? Will $20 ship it back? Due to size and weight, I would guess so. Again, two years ago there was like $100 in there for that tree!!!!

kitsch4 originally shipped it down fedex for $19 and with all the gift's we removed it ought to be even lighter! ;) Isn't it a great tree!!!!!
If the shipping ends up being more I'd be happy to send more funds to cover.
