DVC 1,000 Point Club (2025)

Wanted to circle back on the custom shirts, hoodie, etc. idea and see if there was any interest. Perhaps @UrsulaWantsYourSoul or I could reach out to the nice person who did the founding VDH merch and see if they could do a run of DVC Comma Club merch for our group. Likely would need to do something via Facebook or something.

@Sandisw advise on any rules or such on doing something like this please

We officially closed on our sale of 1,000 points, so we should be set for awhile now at 4,965 across AUL, OKW, SSR, VGC and VGF.

Up to 2,540 now at AUL, BCV, CCV, PVB, RIV, VDH, VGC, VGF.

Almost crossed over into "easier to say where we don't own" territory, but the "donts" still have it 9 vs. 8 (AKV, BLT, BRV, BWV, CFW, HHI, OKW, SSR, VBR). To that, there's a small chance we pick up a BLT contract in the next couple of months, but the rest are longshots.

Next day edit: actually SSR probably isn't too much of a longshot. With how hard AUL-S contracts are to find, SSR is next best for SAP.

I’ve just read this thread from start to finish, absolutely insane but amazing!

I own 200 at SSR and recently added 100 PVB but normally contribute to my sisters 200 BCV dues and use some of them. I was only joking with my dear wife the other day about saving our points and using three years worth at once and here you all are doing that each year and some!

When DH & I found out about DVC in 2017, we knew it was the perfect (Cinderella’s glass slipper) fit for our family!! We bought a resale BLT + a tiny Poly direct add-on (212 pts total)… and that was going to be it. Forever. (How naive! )

After several major life changes & deciding we wanted DVC to be our long-term “vacation home” in FL, we began adding on ~once a year at different home resorts. We crossed over the 1,000 point threshold with our last purchase in March ‘22 @ VGF. That was ~18 months ago, & DH says we’re done… he has said this after nearly every contract … but I think he actually means it this time!! Ironically, it was him realizing we’d joined the 1k club -and by default it meant we were in too deep!

However, he has agreed it would be good to sell some points & “exchange” them for other resorts, & I’m thinking I could make this work! You know- sell 200, and casually buy 350, etc. Rinse & repeat ​

Crazy fact- I actually tried to convince DH that VGC was necessary (as my all-time fav Disney ride is RSR )… and that it would be our best DVC financial investment (resale was hovering around $160pp). He believed me that the resale would indeed go up, but he did not believe I would sell if/when it did… he knows me so well!!

(He also knew my real reason for wanting it was so I’d have an excuse to travel to DL more often! )

1355 between BCV, PVB, RIV, VDH, VGF

Started with VGF in 2022 and never thought we would be buying these many points. We stay in 2BR and quickly realized we need a LOT more points than we bought. PVB and RIV are unexpected buys (emotional buys?) and @DonkeyHoTay is still giving me major FOMO about not buying a FW 1BR TPV lol.

Self-reflective question:
Do I exist if I book a Poly Tower room and do NOT have a TPV?

Mr. @DonkeyHoTay has me thinking more about the virtues of the TPV.
