DV Double rewards - Now I am really upset!!

melanieewr: I thought the $750 maximun for rewards was based on the $75,000 spent, but that bonus offer rewards were not included in the 750 number. I interpreted it to mean you could earn the $750 and unlimited bonus points.

my3kids;

I will have to check on that! I know that my other rewards cards (I have several) that have set limits on the amount of rewards that can be earned, all say that bonuses are included in the yearly maximum allowed. It would be great if the bonuses earned do not have to be considered as part of that yearly maximum.

Does anyone know the answer?

melanie: I pulled my agreement envelope out:

"You can earn 1%in Dream Reward Dollars on as much as $75,000 in net purchases on ....your card during each calendar year, ending with your Dec. billing cycle. There is no cap on the number of bonus reward dollars you may earn when you take advantage of special bonus offers featured in your...statement or online."

Hooray for you!!!

Thanks! I was content that I would have $1025 from my dv to spend in October...now I'm really psyched! :bounce: !!! It is so much fun to try to figure out ways to maximize rewards from credit cards. Since we pay our balances off monthly or weekly on our cards...it's free money! Woo Hoo! I still can't believe they set my monthly bonus rewards level at only $100.

Another steaming customer here - I too received the infamous $2300 amount per month spending!!! What?!!! Yes, we DO use our card for everything (usually average about $2000/month on it). BUT I would think Disney would *reward* their faithful customers rather than punish them in this way. There's no way I'm going to spend more than what I do now just to get double points - sorry! I don't get it...........

I don't get it either...like I said before, I have not ever gotten a double points bonus offer until now. I assumed it was because I charged a lot to the card. Now I just don't get it at all...especially giving me such a low low threshold of what I have to spend to earn the bonus points! BTW, I am also a Day 1 member.

Got the "offer" in the mail today ... $650 per month for a year ... no thanks!!! After being passed over for the last offer, I decided to use my Discover card more heavily than my DV. We always pay off balances. I'd rather get cash back and save that toward our next vacation. I'll keep my DV just to get the offers for discounts on rooms but won't use it for every day purchases unless they give me more of an incentive!

Just noticed ... countdowns are back ... YEAH!!! 79 days & counting!!!:jumping1:

Oh that's weird. The countdown was there when I previewed my post but now it's gone now that I submitted the post.

Another upset Day 1 DV card holder here. I probably ave $2,000/month. I got the $1,000/month offer for 12 months. If they don't count BJ's I'll never make it! Now $100 I could handle.

A friend of mine had the last offer (I didn't) and just rebuilt her house so she had $12,000 in charges last month.

BUT.....I just saw this on the BankOne website:

The maximum reward accumulation during this promotional period is 100 bonus Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM per calendar month.

Hope this wasn't the case for her last offer.

And why would they leave Disney purchases off the offer? Most reward cards (I have a Sony) want you to purchase their products.

I emailed disney visa and asked about the situation where my grocery store is coming up "other". I asked if this would count towards the double rewards. This is the email I received back:

"As your credit card company, we value your business. It is important to us that we
provide you with timely information regarding your account.

The merchant must post the transaction with the qualifying merchant category code. If the
transactions post as other, you will not earn double points. We regret any inconvenience

:(
My grocery store and drug store is coming up "Other". My gas station comes up as "Vehicle Expenses". Will this count towards the "gas" part?
