DV Double rewards - Now I am really upset!!

georgina, call and speak to a rep. That is what I did to check on my grocery store. I shop at Market Basket here in MA. They were able to tell me that yes they were part of the program even if it does say other on my bill. CVS, my pharmacy also shows up as other, but will count. I found them to be very helpful when I called.

mine was for $350 but I never use my visa so I'm sure that they are just trying to get me to use it...

We just finished Double Rewards on June 30th. We had to spend $150.00 to get the Double Rewards. Yesterday in the mail was a card stating we could get Double Rewards until year BUT niw we have to spend $1000.00 a month:earseek:

What a big difference!!

okay i also called and talked to a rep....this is what i understood..i have to spend the $2300.00 in one calendar mth. (on the listed categories) and after that.....I would receive 'double rewards' each time i spent on the appropriate items...am i making any sense....? i wouldnt have to spend the $2300.00 every month.......we need a new riding mower and still doing home remodling so its doable....we already have over $300 on the DDR card....

i just called again and it is $2300.00 EACH MONTH.I agree thats crazy and i am HOPPING MAD.....got the address of the corporate office...........I said I had read it on line and some folks are getting $150 or $800 etc....she says different offers for different people.NO KIDDING.. last time i didn't even get ANY offer.I am being penalized for putting so much on this card. every month.......I need to learn how to read, dont I??? just had to vent

The required amount to spend is probably based on each individual's credit limit. I wonder if some of us would have lower spending requirements if we called and actually requested a lower credit limit. Mine is pretty high, I would never charge the amount they would allow me to. Just a thought...

My credit limit is $5000.00 and I have to spend over $100.00 to get double rewards. We seldom use the card because we have been saving up the airline miles! I would guess they want the people who are not using the card as much to start using it more! I am hoping the CS rep I talked to knows what she is talking about. She said at first the offer expired June 30 (I did not get double rewards then either) and I said I read it on the website and she then said oh yes....here it is!

Just based on my own experience, I think the spending requirement is based on card usage. I got the $150 offer which ended June 30th. My credit limit is well over $10,000, but I never use my Disney Visa (although I did during this offer). I did not get the new offer that some people are talking about. It will be interesting to see what they do now that I am not using the Disney Visa anymore.

My credit limit is $10,500 and I got the $150.00 offer. I do charge everything that I can on it and I pay it off on-line as soon as it appears. Don't know if this has anything to do with it or not though.:D

Are you sure you didn't get the new offer? I didn't receive any type of letter or insert w/my statement but when I went to the website and logged in, I found it while looking in the "Current Offers" section and clicked on the "Other Exciting Offers" link.

I just recieved my card last week and have no offers for double points however under other exciting offers. If I have friends or family they can recieve the 50.00 rewards but it offers me nothing. I could use the double points because we leave September 11th. KELLY

I found my offer on the Bank One website, too. I have to spend $450 each month to get double rewards. I can probably make it if I really make the effort.

I see where some of you say your grocery store isn't listed by Bank One as a "grocery store". Is there an actual list they go by? I do a lot of shopping at the (evil) WalMart SuperCenter...if it isn't on "the list" I'm probably SOL. :o

I found my offer on-line and was thrilled to see that I only have to spend $125.00 a month before receiving the 2%. :teeth:

I feel better now...misery loves company. I was going to post the exact same thing this morning - I got the double points offer for anything over $2300 for gas, food, etc. JEEZ! What an "offer"!

I think it's tied in to your usage/history. My limit is 10400 and I'm already using my Disney Visa for all my grocery, gas, cellphone, DSL/cable and misc charges. Any where and everywhere that I shop that accepts Visa, I use my card so I've averaged $1750/month for the last 3 months (a trip to Tampa in May, Disney trip in April plus car repairs and car insurance renewal were in there too).

My double threshold this time around is $1000 and I didn't get the offer the last time around. I think I've basically punished myself by using the card exclusively!! I think if I don't see myself meeting the $1000 threshold in the next few months(which I doubt I will), I'll switch to my Universal Studios Mastercard and rack up some points over there leaving my Disney with a lower average and maybe next time I'll get a decent offer! (Does this make sense?) Arg!!

Oh yeah..and why do those of us "Charter members" who have been loyal users since Day 1 lose out on the $50 start-up promos too?? That's just not right!! (OK...end of rant)

I have not ever received a double points offer from dv...UNTIL NOW! I have a $20,000 credit limit and spend enough in 6 months to max out on the yearly reward limit. I use the card for our business fuel expenses mainly and I actually go online and pay off the balance weekly. I could not believe it when I just went to the online offers and saw that all I had to spend a month for double rewards was $100! My weekly fuel purchases show up on the statement as "service stations" so I am okay there. Here is the catch...I am so close to my maximum rewards limit for this year that this offer does me absolutely no good at all! Maybe that is why I received the low $100 offer. It is only good until September.

I think it is time to get a second card for dh!

Thanks, KerryCM, I did call and was told that on their computers, it did show up as groceries. Since I charge all my groceries and gas, I may end up with a few bonus points after all.

Just got a letter from Disney Visa for those double points for the year with no minimum spending!!! Yahoo! I have a very high credit limit with them and spend $1500-$2000/month...so this is awesome-especially since I am charging my upcoming trip for August!

I received my first letter today and I'm a cardmember since "Day 1" with only a $5,000 limit (which I had frozen to). There is no mention of a monthly limit for my offer. Online, it states the same as my letter:

Just spend with your Disney's Visa® Card on the spending categories listed below in any calendar month from July 1, 2004 to September 30, 2004.1 Once you spend in a calendar month, you’ll earn 2% in Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM for every additional dollar you spend over on:

Everyday purchases: groceries, drugstores, gas, dining, dry cleaning
Monthly expenses: utilities, cell phone, home improvements
Entertainment: movies/refreshments, video rentals

I just called Bank One to verify and I have no minimum amount except for the normal $100 to receive a point. I was informed that everyones offer is different and it's random.

We also received the infamous $2300 offer. To add insult to injury, it's on my "closed-because-we-left-our-credit-card-in-the-little-restaurant-bill-book-at-Kona-Cafe-and-no-one-could-be-bothered-to-look-for-it" card and NOT on my replacement card!

Honestly, I'm not sure what they're going to learn from their "random" distribution. That information flies on the internet and that folks get really irritated when not treated fairly? Really, now...what are they going to learn from having some folks get an offer of $0 or $150 and have some folks get an offer of $2300? Frankly, I'm so irritated I'd like to NOT use my card, but I'd be the only one to suffer come next April for our trip.
