Duvet Covers ???

We are re-doing our bedroom. We have had a quilt for many years. I can't find a comforter that I like but I haev found some duvet covers that are nice. I have never had one before and I have some questions. Bear with me please some of them may be pretty silly.

A duvet cover is basically a pillow case for a comforter, right? How do you keep the comforter from slipping down to the bottom? Are there some sort of attachments that hold it in place?

If you have one are you happy with it? What would make it better for you?

Yep, a duvet cover is about like a pillow case, but they have buttons (at least mine do) at the bottom to make sure that the down blanket I have in there won't slide out.

I much prefer duvets and had a hard time convincing my hubby to go that route. But it is so much easier to clean and deal with than a full comforter. I can at least get them to fit into the washer.

I also like that I can "stuff it" with different levels of comforters. I use a down blanket since my hubby gets hot. It's kind of fluffy but not as fluffy as others. If we ever needed to, I could change it to a warmer down comforter (thicker as well). Makes my bed a lot more versatile than before

If you have a Bed Bath and Beyond or Linens and Things near you they sell a set of 4 clips (they look like mini chip clips) that work to keep the comforter from sliding down. You lay the duvet inside out on the bed, put the comforter on top and then clip the corners together. When you turn the duvet right side out, it all stays put. I hope this makes sense, but it is really easy and it works. I just bought them last week, they were $5.99 I think.
