Duty free

Hi everyone,

I've looking at the things you can order from the Virgin Atlantic duty free catalogue ... i thought it would be a lovely surprise to buy a couple of things for the family (headphones for DS13, the lego plane for DS6). Has anyone does this and can you tell me, please, do you actually get it delivered to your seat (as per the blurb) or do you collect it from that trolley they put your duty free purchases!?

good question...we are ordering or should I say DH is ordering a Virgin Galactic model for our return journey so we don't have to pack it etc...I am sure I have pre-ordered before but ages ago and then it was on our seats....We are pre-ordering because they never have the whole catologue of items onboard and didn't have the Virgin Galactic model on the Vegas flights..

On another note..be careful with what you buy from their Duty Free..last year DH got a watch on the way back from Vegas (not pre-ordered) which said it was 'Exclusive' to VA and it turned out tobe £40 less in Argos...we complained and got our money back!

We bought a links of London necklace for daughter and they brought it to our seat. It is also good to order especially as they don't have everything on the plane

Perhaps should have added: the reason for asking is that I don't want to walk past them if you have to collect at the gate!

I have never seen duty free being collected at the gate at Gatwick, not sure about Manchester.. And at the gate in MCO it's only the items you buy at the airports duty free shop and not VA's duty free...
