Hi Everyone! So glad I've found this forum; been trying to piece together tips from fb pages. I've been going to Disney as an adult 12 plus times in the past 6 years, but this September will be my first time solo.

Right now, I have a 3 night/4 day trip planned, but arriving in the evening on Monday and leaving by noon on Thursday. One night, I'm doing a member event at AK, so that leaves me with one night with no plans.

Flights are the same price to leave on Friday. I'm an annual pass holder so ticket cost isn't an issue.

So, my question is....would extending my trip another day be too long of a trip for my first time traveling to WDW wolo

There is no such thing as a "too long" trip to Disney.

When I have gone solo, I like to have at least 1 whole day at each park, so that would be a 3 night minimum. But, I usually stay longer.

I guess it's really a personal preference about duration. Do you remember your first time going solo and thinking too long/too short/or just right?

Although everyone is different, for me, a 3 night/4 day solo trip is the perfect length... getting out before any true loneliness sets in but always while wishing I had just one more day to play. I guess that's not such a bad thing as it give me a reason to come back!

Since you've been there 12+ times over the past 6 years, you have the luxury of being a little more selective with your "must-do" list.

My first solo trip was 3 nights/4 days for my birthday. I knew immediately that was not going to be enough time and regretted not booking more nights. Second trip was 4 nights/5 days which is basically only 3 full days since I drive and arrive around 2 or so, went strictly for F&W, again thought that would be plenty of time, after all I really was going mostly for F&W and I would just drop into each of the others parks for a ride on my one or two favorite rides, walk the trails at AK, shop at MK. Nope, not enough time. New strategy next year when I go to F&W, I still do 4 nights/5 days but I knock out MK my first night there, mark that one off the list, still have 4 days to enjoy F&W. First full day I go to AK, leave the park around 11, feeling like I was rushed through and didn't get to enjoy it as much as I wanted but I had reservations for tea at GF at 12:30 so had to move on, went straight to Epcot after that. Day 2 of full day, I start at HS and stay until my first reservation for a seminar at F&W which was 1:00, felt rushed again. Day 3 full day did FW at Epcot then back to WS for F&W seminars and meals. Day 4 leaving day but I can stay until around 1 so run to MK to finish up shopping then back to Epcot to hit the few booths I still had not hit. Nope, not enough time. Next year for F&W, which I'll do solo I plan on trying 5 nights 6 days, fingers crossed.

On my first solo trip, in 2012, I stayed 5 nights because I was unsure about being there "too long." When I decided to go back the next year, I went to 6 nights. I stayed with that for a while, but now on this year's trip I'm staying 7 nights - and I can't stop thinking, "I don't have enough time!!!"

Short answer: if you can extend your trip by a day, I'd do it.

My first solo was last summer. It was 6 nights and I wasn't ready to leave! I had no idea what to expect going in. I had traveled solo before, but never there. It was also my first trip as an AP. I loved everything about that trip. Only would have made it longer if I could have. My next solo was in December and it was 4 nights. It felt too short, but was still great. I just returned from my 3rd solo on Friday. It was 10 nights. It was glorious. A few days were with friends for the Princess 5K. But 5 nights were solo. I didn't want to leave, yet again. I was supposed to leave on Thursday but the weather was so amazing I added an extra night at the last minute.

Moving down there this summer so I don't have to leave anymore! Ha. :)

So...I definitely would extend by a day if you can!

Did my first solo trip last December and stayed for a week, and that was a good length for me. I did Universal Studios one day, Disney Springs another, and spent the rest of my days at the parks.

Add the extra day right now! :earsboy:

I leave for my first solo trip in 57 days. It's 9 days/8 nights. I love everything Disney and still feel like I won't have enough time :D

My first solo trip is going to be just 4 nights with 3 days in the parks. I found an airfare I couldn't resist and my goal is to mainly enjoy the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot, something my DH and DD find BORING... For a solo trip this will be the perfect length for me.

I've taken solo trips for 5-6 nights. I'll probably stay four nights next time just because I miss my cat when I'm away but three nights would probably feel rushed for me.

I'll be going on my 3rd solo (not work related) trip in late May. My first trip solo in 2013 was 7 nights, last December, I was there for 9 nights and in May I'll be there for 6 nights. The 9 night trip was one of my favorite trips ever. I don't think it was necessarily the length, but where I stayed (Key West and AKLV) and all that I was able to do. The time of year also made it great. So many mid-week days at MK were almost empty--never have I had that before--I was able to actually film the entire day parade there without interruption! I was also able to record the MVMCP parade in it's entirety without a hitch. I think that's why I am going back again this coming December--solo or not remains to be seen at this point.

4 nights and 5 days in the park going solo. On my departure day I always take a late flight so I can squeeze a park day in.
