Were going to WDW next year for the first time with 2 kids. We've been several times with one. We'll have a 3 yo and a 20 month old. Do I want a duo glide type stroller or a Baby Trend sit and Stand. The Sit and Stand seems to fold easier and more compact for use on buses and parking lot trams. But, I don't think my DS will like to sit facing backward.

I'd like to hear from folks who have experience with these strollers.

I personally have not used the sit n stand but have been with my sister using it for her two during a long day at a state fair. They were 2 and 4 at the time. The sun was hot and there was not any shade for the 4 year old (who was sitting in the back) As the day went on the 4 year old wanted to sit in the regular seat and rest. I would have to think that it would be the same scenario in WDW. I do have the duoglider and would not want to lug that back and forth to the parks. I purchased a lightweight umbrella stroller by kolcraft for the trip because it would fold up small enought to easily carry, it had the canopies for sun protection, and the reclined flat for kids to rest. Just my 2 cents!:)

The Sit N Stand weighs 24 pounds. The Duo Glider weighs approx. 35 pounds. We considered a Sit N Stand but DS just didn't like it that much when we "test drove" it. We ended up buying a DuoRider, the side-by-side Graco. It is a very nice stroller and we have not had any problems with it. It has the HUGEST baskets I have ever seen on a stroller. My 4 yo DD can actually sit in one basket and be comfortable (this is NOT recommended, I am a bad mommy for allowing her to do it).

After our 3rd child was born last year we bought a Combi Twin Savvy stroller that I love! It folds up so tiny (for a double) and is very lightweight. It even has a strap to carry it. I look forward to bringing it to Disney in July. This stroller weighs 21 pounds.

Take your kids to a store that sells strollers and test drive a few. Keep in mind that you need something comfortable for both kids and for you to push, you want something that is easy to fold and lightweight to carry. Plus, you want it to be in your budget!

Happy stroller shopping!

I just want to thank you both for the very valuble info. I'd like to keep the info coming.

I found this thread very helpful.

I currently have reservations to rent a Sit N Stand from A Babies Best Friend... but I'll be cancelling it. I didn't even think of the fact that DD will have no coverage from the sun when she wants/needs it!..thank you for pointing that out Princess Mommy2!

I think we'll probably just rent the double strollers at the parks, doing the math...it would cost about the same anyway. We'll have our single stroller from home for outside of the parks traveling.

We have used both the DuoGlider and the Sit and Stand at DW. The main problem with the Sit and Stand was that there was nowhere for the child riding in the back to rest. If the child gets tired in the afternoon before you get a chance to return to the hotel for a nap or late in the evening after Wishes and Spectromagic, it is almost impossible to fall asleep in the back of the Sit and Stand without falling out! princess:

Hi! We're just back from a New Years week trip and my kids are pretty much the same age as yours. Mine are 3 1/2 and 21 months. We have both the front/back duoglider and a sit and stand and chose to bring our sit and stand. My biggest concern with bringing this one was that if my little one was sleeping and we had the seat reclined that his brother wouldn't be able to sit on the jump seat, he'd have to stand. We decided that it would be better to bring the sit n' stand b/c we were going during the busiest week of the year (we were there 12/29-1/3) and the duoglider is so long that it would be easier to steer the sit n stand. We figured if we got into a situation where our 3 year old REALLY needed to sit and the 21 month old was sleeping, we'd just rent a single stroller for a while untill the little one woke up. My 3 year old never has been a stroller sleeper so we knew there was no chance of him taking a nap in the stroller no matter what.

We had NO problems with using the sit and stand and I'm glad we chose that one. To be honest, our 3 year old almost never wanted to ride in the stroller. He wanted to walk. He did ride occasionally but when he got tired, he wanted to go "up high" on Mom or Dad's shoulders. We were able to leave non-valuable stuff in the stroller and sort of pull the jump seat back to cover up the bag in the basket. It wasn't near as bulky as the duoglider would have been. Our 21 month old was comfy in it and we didn't have to deal with the "I want to ride in front" argument we have when we use the duoglider. The bulkiness of the stroller wouldn't be as big a deal to me when we go in May, but for the busy time we were there it made a big difference.

I am hoping to find a side by side double that has reclining seats and a basket underneath before our trip in May. My 21 month old is big and the seat on the sit and stand is a little small so I'm afraid he won't be comfy in there in another 5 months. DH will be SO thrilled to have another stroller enter our household but I really don't want to deal with the big long stroller at the parks! I had looked at the double umbrella stroller at Babies R Us and loved it except that it doesn't have a basket underneath. I think that is an important thing to have at WDW so we didn't get that one. We have a great Combi single stroller so I'm actually comtemplating just buying the little roller board thing to attach to it for the 3 year old to ride on when he wants to.

Have a great time on your trip!!!

We used our DuoGlider with our kids who were 3 and 1 on our trip last summer. Getting it on and off the buses was a pain the first few times but once we got used to it it was pretty easy (I definitely couldn't have managed it plus the kids myself, though--you definitely need one person to take the stroller and one to mind the kids). In the parks it was a godsend--the big canopies and basket were really nice to have, and we had no problems at all maneuvering it through stores, etc. We appreciated its surprisingly good one-handed steering. The only thing that got to us was that one of the canopies kept popping off. That was pretty irritating but I'm not sure if that was just our particular stroller's problem. And, oh yes, whoever was riding in the back would sometimes kick the back of the seat in front or start pulling the front seat rider's hair; that called for some minor disciplinary action but wasn't too big a deal.

I use a super lightweight stroller at home for our toddler (our preschooler never uses a stroller except at WDW) and am not planning on purchasing a Sit N Stand, but it sounds like the Sit N Stand might be a good alternative to the DuoGlider at WDW, depending on your children's needs. I'd definitely suggest going to a baby store and taking some good long test drives with the strollers you're interested in. Happy shopping!

You should take into consideration whether your older child is a walker or a rider. I have the duoglider which I will be taking to WDW with us, because my 4 year old still prefers to ride than walk and the duoglider is much easier to manuever when you have bigger kids.

As has been mentioned with the Sit and Stand, if the seat is reclined, the older child cannot sit on the rear-facing seat, they must stand. It's a bit tricky to access the basket on the Sit and Stand because you have to slide back the rear seat to get to it, whereas the duoglider has a huge basket. The biggest con for the duoglider is that it's so much bulkier when folded.

I think if your older child prefers to walk or stand, then the Sit n Stand will be great. The best advice was when someone suggested testing both out in a store if possible. That helped me make a decision when purchasing a double stroller.

Hi! We have been to WDW 6 times since my daughter was born (she is now 4.5).

We have a DuoGlider and wouldn't even consider taking anything else. Our oldest does like to walk at times, but she also gets tired (especially if we do something like the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party) and will occasionally nap (why doesn't she do that at home? LOL!). I like ths sun protection and the ability to recline either seat (although the back seat reclines farther than the front...).

My husband complains because the stroller is so heavy, and it is a pain getting it on and off the buses. But we wouldn't do it any other way. We are going again in Oct., and this time we will have a third child with us - a 3-mos-old! Hmmm...what will we do now?! LOL!

Good luck with your decision & have a great trip!

A three year old is still apt to fall asleep, so I dont know that a sit-n-stand would be great. But the size of the other isnt so convenient either.

For convenience and comfort to you, I'd vote for the combi. The handles seem a bit low, so if you are tall, I wouldnt reccommend it. Not alot of storage either, but the wieght and sholder strap are wonderful.
