Dune Buggy- Cozumel ??'s

Has anyone tried the non-DCL Dune Buggy tours in Cozumel? We will be on the 02/10 Western and was thinking the Dune Buggy trip would be perfect for our family (2 boys 7,5) There are a few companies offering this excursion. Just hoping for a little feedback on which opreators might be better, safer, funner! etc.. Thanks in advance

We are going the last weekend in Feb on the Western and just booked the dune buggy tours with Cozumel vacation rentals. I researched alot on the this site as well as cruise critic board--their name kept coming up with great reviews. There are 14 of us going--when we booked, we sent over an email and we received a phone call that evening from a very nice professional woman, Veronica. go to www.cozumelhomes.com and see for yourself. we are really looking forward to it. Heard nothing but good things.

We did the DCL dune buggy tour this Nov. and liked it alot....though the dune buggies ran fine....they leave much to be desired (they are bare bones). There is no real roof so I suggest bringing a hat and something to cover your shoulders so you don't burn.

thanks mmouse. I sure wish I could go the DCL cruise... a little more secure I bet. But because our kids are only 5 and 7, the DCL excursion is a no-go. Hopefully, there isn't much difference between the tours!

Leah.. I booked the same one as you. We will be in Cozumel 02/14 so if there's anything I think you should know beforehand I'll send you a note.

A large group on the 12/9 DD cruise booked a batch of jeeps & went exploring on their own. The trip reports from those haven't been posted yet but you should be able to get some info about where they went soon. They did say that the first bar and beach they went to was a perfect spot for a family.

I don't think the DCL tour would really be any more secure....I believe the tour companies all use the same type of vehicles...DCL does not use their own vehicles..whatever the tour company uses....

the only security would be that if the excursion was late getting back to the ship and the ship was due to leave...they would wait for you.
