I just read the Disney Files magazine that is sent to me and i saw where the Dumbo ride will double in size. What does this mean??? are they putting in a second dumbo ride???

THis is my favorite ride...... What gives??

The old Dumbo will be gone. Where the new Dumbo will go there will be two spinners. Hence the doubling.

They have gutted Toontown, and in its place will be a new mini-land called Storybook Circus. The land will feature the train station, gift shop, and meet and greet from Toontown re-themed to a circus. Dumbo will also move to Storybook Circus and will get a second spinner to double the capacity. Dumbo will also have an interactive queue where you play sideshow games while you wait for your turn to ride. This land will reportedly open in phases from Spring-Summer 2012.

The original Dumbo will be torn down and replaced with a castle wall seperating the original Fantasyland from the new additions.

It's going to be a cheap overlay of TTF worst part if FLE IMO. The only positive is Dumbo will have double the capacity.

I really wish they would use Aladdin Carpets as one of Dumbis Spinners then we could have our AL plaza back!

Considering most of TTF has been bulldozed, I'm not sure if you can really call it a cheap overlay..

the 2 Tents are still there, and the Goofy Coaster is still there. That's all that remains of the original Toontown.

Now.... It could be a "cheap new area", which is pretty much what Toontown was to begin with...

And you made my point for me a roller coaster Retheme and a spinner cheap.

I guess my point was I don't see it as simply an overlay. IMHO, an overlay tends to be mostly just a new coat of paint to give something a new theme. Since most of the area was bulldozed, It's not quite an overlay for the area.

A new overlay on the existing coaster, and possibly in the tents, sure. But beyond that, it's a bit more extensive than just a new coat of paint and some different props.

(Our disagreement however may just be on the definition of an overlay, and not in the fact that they are replacing one "realitively cheap" area with another.)

I see your point. I like FLE I just upset that there will be no E-Ticket!

I'm not too upset about that. I figure we got a lot of new theming to explore, and 2 new attractions in Little Mermaid and the Dwarf Coaster. Even though neither are of the high-thrill type attraction that many people would consider E-Tickets in this day and age (Forgetting that rides like PotC used to be E-Ticket attractions), They are going to be those unique type of rides that I just can't get outside of Disney. That makes me happy.

While when they announced it Disney Said TLM was an E WDI calls is a D and don't get me wron it will be a great D. As far as Snow White goes its a little to early to tell ifn the only real show scene is the Dwarve scene from the art id is a D if there is more to it it may be an E.

It just bugs me WDW's FL used to have an E in 20K now that they have the chance to replace it they don't.

I'm also wondering if the different in the original Disney announcement and WDI's classification of the rides could just be trying to set guest expectations. A LOT of guests think that an E-Ticket (these days) have to be thrilling rides such as Star Tours, the WDW mountains, Test Track, Mission Space, etc. Some also include the major draws like Toy Story Mania and Soarin'.

Few would consider the old 20k, PotC, HM, Small World, Jungle Cruise, or even the Enchanted Tiki room as "E-Tickets".

So While the ride may classify as "E" in many ways, WDI probably wanted to say "D" in order to prevent people from complaining about how they weren't thrill rides.

(It's better to under promise the attraction. Otherwise they risk creating a great attraction but have people complain about what it's not rather than praise it for what it is.)

I hate that people think an E has to be a thrill ride 20K was an E. But when it comes to coasters it gets tricky. Snow White is described as having thrills in between Barnstormer and BTM. So a mild thrill to make it an E it needs to have theming on par withBTM. Not as big but on par and the can do this with more show scenes.

If it doesn't have more scenes and since it's a coaster you do have to take thrill into account. So again with it's thrill level and if it lacks additional show scenes there us no way it can be a E it would be a solid D.

I'll freely admit that I'm not "typical" of most WDW guests these days.

I actually prefered Horizons and World of Motion to Mission Space and TestTrack. True, they are both good and fun rides, but I miss the humor, storytelling, and unique disney flavor in those classic attractions. I'll also admit that it's that unique Disney feeling that I'm really looking forward to seeing in the new attractions. You just can't get a good omnimover/storytelling type attraction outside of Orlando/California. (Besides Disney and Universal, who even really tries to do them?)

Agreed my favorite attraction of all time is Horizons anyone can make a thrill ride but I fear not even Disney could make a Horizons again.

Talking about an E-ticket ride. I think they should add that E ticket in TL (ex. Star Wars coaster) since TL hasn't had a new ride put in since Stitch, which many think is a negative not a positive. Before that, I believe it was Buzz. My point, even though the FLE isn't going to have a so called E ticket, there are plenty of other opportunities to add another E in a different section of MK.

Agreed but FLE should have been the chance for FL to get an E!

I'm curious, what would your idea of an E ticket in the FLE be, because I honestly can't think of one, although I may be corrupted by the fact that I think of an E ticket as a thrill ride, which was dis-proven in a PP.

Well 20K was.

Matterhorn Bobsleds
Bald Mountain: Was a huge Mouatain E-Ticket that featured the Disney Villans.

Something like that would have been great. But it didn't happen so now I want an E in either TL or AL.

I realize this was discussed above but I skimmed, so I'll ask again. Do you think the Snow White Mine Train could be considered an E-ticket for FL?

It is to early to tell really It is not that long and so far we the art has shown only one show scene. If that is the case then no IMO it will be a D. If there are more show scenes with heavy theming then it could be a E.

In reality it will probaly be a D.
