I did our on line check on the other day for our 1-24-15 trip--today we got our

wristbands--which I was surprised about since I didn't order any!!:confused3

so now what do I do? I am signed up for "my Disney experience"

but do I need to link it to the ressie (how do I do that)

alos we don't have tickets yet--I have 2 days left from a trip a few years ago and DH will need tickets

this is our first time with the bands--as if you couldn't have guessed:rotfl2:

do they have to be activated--I assume we do this at the parks

any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated

thanks all

Have you looked at your MDE account? Your reservation should already be there if you received Magic Bands in the mail and did online check in.

If you have separate tickets, you need to link them to your MDE account by entering their ticket #s in MDE. You can also scan the ticket bar codes with a smartphone. Once you do that, you will be able to make FP reservations. If your husband's ticket isn't too old, you should be able to link it to MDE now.

Your bands shouldn't need to be activated in any way, although if you had a dining plan (I'm guessing you don't) you would need to check in to the resort before your credits were active.

The Magic Bands have taken the place of "Key Cards", The Magic Bands is your everything now.. Your room Key, Park Tickets, Magical Express, dining plan and Fast Passes.
First go to your Disney Experience and see if you can link the ticket you have, and when you get DH'S ticket you can link it also to the magic Band and use that to get into park, and fast pass. HTH!

Congratulations on getting your MagicBands! First things first now, you will only have a My Disney Experience if you have signed up for one. If you haven't, it is probably smart to do so. Just provide your information. Though I do believe at this point you probably have one. If this is the case try to log on. Then, when logged in, go to My MagicBands and Cards. It will most likely have your MagicBand info shown if you had already had an MDE account. If they are not showing however all you have to do is add them. On the back side of the MB, the part that goes on your wrist, there should be a sequence of Letters and Numbers. You will just have to type those in and it will link them to your MDE. Once those are added, now I would add whatever tickets you have left to add to them. You just select which MB you will be linking them to- you will just have to add tickets, type in the info on the card (then website will walk you through it) and then the tickets will also be linked to your MB. At this point your reservation for your hotel and your existing tickets will be linked to the MBs. If you are going to be purchasing additional tickets at the parks. I would recommend downloading the MDE app to your phone. When you get those tickets at the parks you will just have to open the app, go to my tickets I believe and then scan in the park tickets to the corresponding member of your party. Then those tickets will be added as well.

If you had already scheduled dinner reservations those will also be on your MB at this point and also on MDE. If you needed to schedule dining reservations, FP+, or anything like that you will now do it directly through MDE or the MDE app on your phone. If you do not feel comfortable doing these things on the computer, you can still call and make changes and the person on the phone assisting you will link it all to your MDE account!

Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask!

Oh one more thing, you asked if they would be activated. They should be, but if you go on MDE and go to My MagicBands and Cards, then click on your MB or both of them for that matter it will either say deactivated or activated. If it says deactivated it will ask if you would like it to be active, you just say yes, and then it will be active. If it says active then you are already good to go!

I you got bands, that means you went into your MDE account, clicked into the MB area, and verified your address at some point. If the bands are grey with nothing on the inside of the band, you did not customize them, but to get them means you verified the address at some point.

They are already linked to your reservation as you aren't sent MBs like that without a reservation.

If you buy tickets directly and online while logged into MDE then they will link to your account automatically. If you buy them somewhere else then you find the tickets section of MDE and follow instructions to link them. By not having tickets yet you've missed the early ability to book FastPass+ but you could still do so now.

wow thanks so much for the great explanation

very easy to follow instructions which helps since Im not good with computers

thanks again--a week from from we'll be in WDW:cool1::cool1:
