Dumb Question regarding people listed on a confirmation

Okay. Sorry. I know that this is dumb. And it probably doesn't matter...

Basic Question: if people listed on a booking decide not go, how do I remove them? Related question: Does it matter?

I have re-done the online Check-In on MDE, which asks about your credit card, your PIN number, etc, but I don't see anywhere to modify the people going.

So, unless I'm missing something, I'm assuming that I would have to modify my booking on the DVC website. But I'm scared to do that and potentially screw something up, because we're only 2 months out, and if it got messed up, then I know we probably wouldn't be able to get it back. And then I would be sad...

So, the final question: if I leave it alone and show up at RIV with 2 less people than are listed on my booking, are they going to care?

Thanks!

No. They won't care.

No. They won't care.
Good. Thanks a lot!

Just out of curiosity, is there a way to change the people going without modifying the booking? If not, then it seems that it must happen a lot that the people who show up are different than the people on the booking.

(For us, it's not the DVC owners that are changing, just some guests, so it seems like you should be able to add or subtract guests without a big deal. But what do I know....?)

We modified a DVC booking to remove guests from the room and didn't run into any issues. I totally understand the anxiety of messing with the reservation though!

Between my propensity to screw things up online, and Disney's infamous IT, I'm not taking the chance!
You could chat with Member Services and have them remove the names if you want but past experiences tells me that it's no big deal to have more names on a reservation than bodies that actually use the room.

To modify the lead person listed on the reservation you need to contact MS. To modify any others, once you are on the DVC site, do the following: under My DVC click on My Dashboard; then under My Vacation Plans click on applicable vacation reservation and then click View or Modify Details; on next page click on Modify for "Guest Information." Then you can add, remove or correct the entry for any particular guest in the room. After making the changes on the DVC site, they should also appear on the MDE site (unless adding a person not already in your Family and Friends list, in which case you also need to add the person there) . As noted, as to actual effect of not removing a person, there is none.

You can do it in chat if you're worried. But yes, this can put your points in holding if you are close enough.

Thanks for all the tips. I think that, based on this advice, I'm just not going to mess with it.

I broke my foot last year right before a Riviera stay. I decided not to go but said my friend could still stay in the room, they were banked points from the Covid close. I never changed anything. Did online checkin, forwarded it to her. They sent me the survey afterwards, I sent it to her to fill out. Sad part was I got the texts on the dining reservations, your table is ready!
