How do they prevent kids/people from slipping/going overboard...I know are all probably laughing..but we will be bringing our son who will be 8 and he is sooooooo active...How do they do that?

except for deck 4 railing, which is exposed, the other public areas ie deck 9, have plexiglass coverage over the railing...

The deck 4 railing is high enough that you couldnt possibly "fall" overboard...that is unless you are doing a Leonardo Dicaprio.

As precaution - I'd keep my eyes on him. There was a little boy playing on the railings when we were eating breakfast (yum mickey waffles) at Topsiders. It made me extremely nervous although his parents didn't seem to mind. Finally, when he put his leg up onto the second railing I felt compelled to point it out to the parents. Although I didn't want to intrude, to me that's a better safe then sorry situation. They yelled for him to climb down.

But like alexandrew said most of the railings are covered.

Have a great and safe trip!

Not a dumb question at all! I was worried about the same thing. But like everyone said, you just have to really keep a good eye on them.
