Ok, so you can see my join date here on the DIS. I'm probably an old timer myself, but I've always wondered this...

Why is the camping thread sooooo far down the list of threads here? For years I've scrolled past the resort threads, past the trip reports and budget boards, even past the DISability thread (and sometimes not past the DISability thread as I have a disabled son). Just seems like there's no rhyme or reason for the sequence for the thread order here.

Don't get me wrong. I'm certainly not complaining. Maybe those who make it here are so nice *because* we're so far out of the way!

I don't know the answer but I did see that there is a thread dedicated to the Fort on the Resorts board just like they have for all the other resorts. Many that post there don't even notice this dedicated Fort Wildreness Campground board down here and I often direct there questions here.

Napria, I don't know the answer to your original question.

I just wanted to point out to everyone that I'm "younger" than you are.

:lmao:

"Tell us about the old days, Miss Napria. What were tube TV's REALLY like?"

I like that it is far down the list. Seems to keep things quiet around here. Us campers are a different kind of folks anyway.

Personally I avoid the other threads these days. I only watch this one and the resort thread dedicated to the Fort.

I do like Ed's question though...

My best friend's father was an extremely conservative preacher...someone gave them a tv so he could keep up with the news, but he did not want anyone watching sitcoms, so he removed a tube and screwed it back in whenever he wanted to watch the news.

HA! I actually *do* remember tube tvs! The one we had growing up was black and white VHF only. Darn, I really wanted to watch Lost in Space in color on channel 56! But we got our exercise while watching TV in those days... You had to get up and turn the knob on the TV to change the channel :lmao:

Seriously, Ed, you've only been here a year less than I have. Sheesh! :rotfl2:

Repairable. You could look inside, see a dead tube, sort of like a dead light bulb, and replace it. My dad had a side job as a tv repairman....oh god I am old!

Wow good question. I have really never thought about it. It does seem like it keeps getting pushed furher down or maybe that's just me? Anyway, even if we have a smaller community than the the other Disboards I am grateful for the friends I make on here and that we have a community board to call our own. :)

As an "old timer" myself I seem to remember it's always been down the bottom of the list. I like it - keeps it away from most of the drama
