Dues Question

I bought 2 resale contracts.
1- 35pts April UY- all 2008 pts
2- 100pts Sept UY- all 2007 & 2008- do not have to pay dues until 2008.

So when will my dues be due? I am thinking The April will be due by April 08 and the Sept contract is due in Sept 08 since previous owners paid 2007 dues. Am I correct? Do I pay them together or seperately? Thanks!

Everything will be due in January, unless you choose monthly payments from a checking account.

Dues don't go by use year, they are calendar year. So if the previous owner paid the 2007 dues, and you have to pay 2008 dues, your bill will come due in January 08.

The Annual Fees are due by January 15 and are considered late after February 15 each year - unless you have MS set up autodebit from a checking account.

As Chuck explained, DVC fees are based on the calendar year regardless what the Use Year may be.

Is it true that if you have a vacation booked for late Jan/early Feb that your real final payment deadline is your check-in date rather than Feb 15th? I thought I had read that you wouldn't be able to check in for a stay after Jan 15th if your dues had not been paid. Can anyone confirm this?

I don't know if they enforce this or not. I do know that before we had our dues auto-debited we often traveled in January, and we paid by check when we checked into the resort. But we were never asked if we had the payment with us, as we always took care of it before we began the actual check-in process..

Thanks Chuck. I think I'll pay a few days before we check in just to be on the safe side. Or better yet, sign up for auto debit if there is still time.

Yes, you should recieve a bill, and ALL contracts have maintenance fees due at the same time no matter what month your use year is.

Can you pay by credit card? And who is the bill made out to, because I get a higher % of cash back on travel expenses.

But only if you pay in a lump sum. Many members prefer the interest free month-by-month payments throughout the year instead of coming up with a lump sum in January.

Hope OP doesn't mind me asking another dues question~

If I want to use Disney Dollar Rewards from the Disney Visa to pay the dues:

1) that is still an option, correct?
2) I think I have enough to pay roughly half of my dues - the remaining balance would need to be paid immediately? I can not auto debit the balance?

I have paid part of my dues with reward dollars. Since I was paying dues in a lump sum I used a credit card to pay the balance. If you are already signed up for auto debit I believe you can apply your reward dollars towards your annual dues to reduce the balance, reducing your monthly payments (the amount of each payment, not the number of payments).
