Dues Question

I am considering a DVC membership and am reading anything I can get my hands on, as well as asking lots of questions.

I was wondering: are dues and maintenance fees the same thing? Also, do you pay the dues/maint. fee in installments each year, or in one lump sum?

Yes, it's all one and the same.

Dues cover all operational expenses, maintenance, Member Services, Property Replacement, Groundskeeping, etc. It even includes all property taxes.

Dues are payable on a calendar basis, due January 15th each year. You may pay all at once in January, or optionally pay monthly by setting up a direct debit from your bank account.

If you pay all at once you may pay by cash or credit card (get those FF miles or Disney Dollar awards). If you want to do it monthly, it can only be done by authorizing monthly debits directly from your account.
