I wonder if the fact that BRV is it's own building also plays into it. So it doesn't share the cost of building maintenance (HVAC, elevators, roofing, painting...)


How is BLT's refurb significantly behind schedule? Everything I've seen says the refurb is done.

It was supposed to be done in Sept 2025. There are reports the refurbishments are to the common areas of BLT now, but that means the refurb is not done and will end up being 9 months late.

We were there on 10/28. We could still hear them using a hammer drill when in our room. We didn’t see any construction though. I don’t know much about the refurb as we don’t own there and this was our first stay but it didn’t sound done

There is also the wifi infrastructure upgrade that was planned. Maybe that is happening now?

When people are generally talking refurbs they are referring to the rooms. The rooms are done and to my knowledge were completed on time if not early.
If they were talking about the resort itself we would still be talking about VGF that started during the pandemic and are still working on things there.

Edit: Just saw @RuntheMouse comment so maybe rooms aren't done but I thought they were all finished.

Edit 2: @Sandisw confirmed rooms were completed.

Understood. I was just saying what we heard didn’t sound like punchlist items, it was hours of noise over several days.

It’s mind boggling how much more I spend on Disney since buying into DVC. Someone there knows what they’re doing!

So far, I think we've only taken just 1 "extra" trip that we wouldn't have taken if we didn't have DVC. So I think I'm still coming out on top. But....I know we have a lot of "extra" trips planned now that we have DVC so I think I'll need to start doing Disney Math to make it sound better.

It was really weird that after I cleaned it and scrubbed it that it still came back after the end of the trip…

BLT’s refurb is significantly behind schedule. Does that translate into also being over budget? If so then you’d think that gets passed onto BLT members which runs counter to dues staying low.

Good to know the rooms are done, but common areas of the tower itself would be part of the timeline & budget. I agree if it’s the greater contemporary property/main building that’s a different story. BLT is very much its own thing. Unless the timeline is right on schedule and they just extended it to cover the next phase (lobby, etc) which could be the case too.
