We are getting ready to go :Pinkbounc We got out the suitcases this weekend and the duffel bag that I always keep stuff for Disney in, no Mickey ponchos or our 4 water mist fans! We have not been in the summer for 2 years(we have gone at Christmas for the past 2 visits). Just wondering, how much are these in the parks now? Are the ones you buy at Wal-Mart any good, do they hold up? Is there any other ones out there that are good? I hate going and having to buy new ones at the park when I know they are in my house, somewhere :rotfl:

I just purchased our Mist Fans at Walmart for $4.97. They are larger than I anticiaped. I hope it won't be too bulky in the backpacks. I haven't tried them out yet but they look pretty decent and I figured they have to be cheaper than buying them in the park.

They are selling water mist fans at the Disney Store. They are around $7, and I only bought one - silly me, should have bought two, I know the girls will be fighting over them!! They were cute, nice size, and beats paying almost $20 for them in the park.

WE WERE AT THE WORLD LAST WEEK AND THOSE MIST FANS WERE SELLING LIKE HOT CAKE AT 17.00 EACH. :cool1:

Ditto! And boy were they tempting.. all prefilled and on ice :sunny:.

I opted to get soaked on SplashM instead  It was a lot cheaper. And boy did we get soaked! 2x on the same ride! The first was near the beginning when you are floating around the base of the mountain...then you enter a very A/C'd cave.... we were freezing :rotfl:

Thanks for all of your replies :sunny: I am going to call our Disney store and see if they have any. I am also going to check the ones out at Wally World. My husband is going to look one more time for me before we buy any! I remember when we bought ours they were on ice and felt so good :thumbsup2 Has anyone ever put then in the freezer? I wonder if they would old up?

I just got some misters this week at Eckerd Drug Store for $5.88 (on sale - normally $9.99. I opened one to check it out since I had purchased 3 and planned to bring back the other two if they were too cheap. But we used it for a couple minutes and it seems great. It's tough to get the full effect unless you're under the sun in that 95 degree heat though. I KNOW I'll be happy we got them when we're there. We resisted the ones at WDW when we were there last Sept even tho it was 95 several of our days.

Good luck!

We purchased Wal-Mart ones 2 years ago....had to keep changing the batteries, and the blades broke....You get what you pay for!!!! They arent made for lasting @ WDW.

One 103 degree day in Epcot last July I broke down and bought a few there.
IT WAS THE SINGLE MOST GREATEST SOUVIE I EVER BOUGHT!!!!!!
Bringing them back this year! :sunny:

I bought one in disney world (the cm filled it with ice for me) --only needed it that one day. I brought it back to the park on my last day and tried giving it away so that I wouldn't have to bring it home----no one wanted it, I had to bring it home. :confused3

Boy, I sure do wish I could sell stuff in the park!!! Iordered some of those super crystals (non-toxic) a few days ago and they came today.... So, I broke out some of my Disney fabric and stitched up a "cool wrap" in about three minutes! It's AWESOME! I've got enough crystals to make about 200 of these suckers!!! :rotfl2: (They only sell in bulk! :lmao: )

Hmmmm.... maybe I will make a SUIT out of this stuff!!!! :rotfl: :smooth:

Where did you get the crystals at? Wonder if you can find them at a place like Michaels Crafts? This would be perfect for my hubby since he is prone to headaches from the heat and a cool cloth on the back of his neck does wonders!

We bought misty fans at Walmart for $2.97 each. They have a clip for your belt loop and are fairly small. DS tested one for me and got 194 "mists"/sprays so will last for awhile without having to be refilled. Made by O2cool. Our store had them in the seasonal pool toys/supply section on one of those end caps hanger things. There is another post on Disboards somewhere that has a picture of them. I'lll see if I can find it.

I ordered them online from Watersorb.

But if you PM me your address, I will gladly send your DH one for free!pixiedust:

I picked up some really cool Mickey Mouse BLANKET EDGING, which, believe it or not, when you stitch the edges together makes an EXCELLENT tube for the wrap!!! :)

MyZoeJane - wonderful idea with the edging! I'm going to have to head to Joann fabrics to see if I can find some. I do wonder if they sell the crystals as well - although I don't want to buy tons of them as you did! The wrap is more appealing to me than the mister fan (but I'm sure my DD8 & DS5 would prefer the mister fans.)

Anything to keep cool in the parks!!!
