Duct Tape????

Ok I know I posted this question somewhere else and I cannot find it anywhere! I would love to know what the Duct Tape is for that is listed on all of the suggested packing lists??? I just can't imagine!!

The only thing I can think of is ripped luggage. I have no idea what else you could use it for on vacation. I don't pack a quarter of the stuff on the packing lists. I cant imagine bringing that much stuff.

You can use duct tape for ANYTHING!! But, I personally by a BRIGHT neon color & put a piece on the handle of my luggage and make a big X on both sides. SOOO much easier to spot on the luggage carousel that way!!

I dont know for sure but maybe if you buy something breakable, wrap it with something and then duct tape it so it wont break

And regardless, I don't think DCL wants people putting duct tape on the furnishings! That would rip the finish off the wood.

If you have a closet door that is sliding open in the middle of the night and slamming from one side to the other when the velcro isn't holding it closed, it works. We have been on a few cruises where there have been 20-25+ foot swells.

ROFL!!! I remember a report shortly before the EBPC cruise in 2008. A table of several children was left unattended in the dining room while the adults went to Palo. This was in PC, where the dishes and salt and pepper shakers are quite large. They broke these, were climbing in the portholes and threw food at nearby guests, resulting in the other guests leaving the dining room. A DISer was nominated to go to Palo to inform the parents of the behavior. The joke in our cruise group was that we would be sure to pack the duct tape for the repo. Our new motto was -- Duct tape, it's not just for your own children anymore.

We were experiencing a bit of rocking one night on our Alaskan cruise, and the TV kept swinging back and forth. A little duct tape secured it so (a) we could watch, and (b) it wouldn't drive us crazy banging back and forth!! Closet doors could have a similar issue, as mentioned previously!
