I have a new game I've been testing, based on Duck Duck Goose.

Instead, it's Duck Duck Boats!

Start on the Hippo River. Stay in the river when I say "duck".
Jump out and race to the green chairs when I say "boats".
If you are the last player without a chair, you're out of the game.

I am only allowing one false start if you jump out too early. Jump out twice,
you're out of the game. Players need to leave my game via the Jungle
Cruise teleporter.

I remove a chair for each round until we have a winner.

The prize: The tiki Karo chair!

Hope you all can make it!

Thank you everyone for making my opening night so much fun!

I stayed open for two hours, and I had to take a break. I'll open it again
in a couple of days.

I had a lot of fun tongiht (and the other nights) I love this game!!!

I even won!! WOOT!

This is one of the most fun games out there. Lots of opportunity for interaction with other players. I love it!

Hail Queen Briar! :teeth:

Extremely fun game! Everyone who likes to race should come play. You will love it.

I decided to open my game tonight again, later than I did yesterday.

And I'm giving people plenty of advance notice, too. ;)

Great game Briar! Everyone looked so cute going around and around! I just wanted to reach into vmk and pick someone up and see what number was on the bottom of their boat! LOL :) FuN!

:rotfl2: Do you win a goldfish if you pick the right number on the bottom of the boat? That kills me! :thumbsup2

I get such a kick during the the first round, where people scatter all over
the place when I say boats. :)

Just played your game, briar, and i have to say that was one of the best games on vmk! So creative and fun! Thanks for the game and for being such a gracious host! :thumbsup2

Thank you everyone who had kind words for me! It's hard to do a game,
that's the truth. I have lots of respect for those who run games frequently.

I do have some experiences that I think I should share, as a "what not to do"
when the host is trying to run a game. And some things you should do, too:

  • Follow the rules. Don't complain later when you break them.
  • Don't argue if the host makes a decision that is not in your favor. Leave and try again.
  • Please leave the room as quickly as possible when you're finished. It slows down the game for the others if you linger.
  • Don't ask to pay to stay if the host asks you to leave.
  • Don't be mad at the host if you lose the game! Be a good sport.
  • Do tell the host if you like the game. It makes all the hard work worth it.
  • Do thank the host after the game, especially if you win a prize.

That's just my own thoughts after running the game two nights in a row.
On Tuesday, I had the game open for two hours, and Wednesday, it was
open for 2 1/2 hours. I am really surprised I was still fairly nice to the
players without snapping at them by the end of my game run. LOL!

I also did have to boot people, and I hate doing that. Most of the boots were
players who were in line but would not enter the game. Some might have
been afk, but that's the risk you take if you don't enter promptly.

Close to my last round, there were two players who would NOT enter the
river to start the game. They were just standing outside the river entrances,
so I had to boot them after giving then plenty of warning.

I've also had to boot when a player just would not enter the teleporter exit.
Of course, I was also told I was mean by a couple of players because they
didn't abide by the rules I announced before I started the game.

Kids. They need to follow the example of some of the VMKids
here.
