Dublin-MCO August Biz class

Help me please Wayneg, just started to look myself for biz class for next year.

Its a little complicated this year due to my time off work and my Mother in law (MIL) coming along. I am very tied to dates due to my work, My Wife and MIL are going to go 2 days before me on 7th of August, I am going to go out on the 9th Aug. MIL is going to go home on 19th August. We are then intending to go on a cruise, managed to talk the misses out of the Disney Cruise and into going on Royal Caribbean Oasis of the seas (I want to go on this one as its presently biggest cruise ship in the world). The cruise starts on 20th Aug and ends at 7.00am on 27th Aug. We are going to have to get a flight down to FT lauderdale or Miami on 19th Aug. We then need to fly home on 27th ( I am back at work on 29th).

So to cut a long story short I need :-
2 biz to orlando for DW and MIL on 7th

1 biz to orlando for me on 9th

1 economy for MIL back to UK on 19th (she can afford around £1200 ish for flights)

2 biz back to uk for me and wife on 27th either from Miami of Ft Lauderdale or a flight back to Orlando and then fly from there.

At least accommodation is booked, 2 nights for DW and MIL in studio at saratoga, 1 week in Treehouse villas for us all then 3 nights in 2 bedroom at Bay Lake Towers.

Any help and one eye on any deals would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tubtruck

Looked at them in August for our flights next July, and Biz class was £800 each, but decided the money i saved was better in my pocket, for spending when we are away.
But i was very tempted.

If paying for Biz class is going to affect any other part of your holiday then I would say no its not worth it, better spending it on a your holiday there but if it doesn't affect your trip then its certainly money well spent, we were treated like royalty last year, this year not quite as good but still 10 times better than economy, I had a little moan to Delta about this year, they gave me 75,000 airmiles:goodvibes

Tubtruck will let you know if I see any bargains, not looking great yet but lots of time. How can you talk her out of a Disney Cruise? Can't wait for Disney Dream next August.:goodvibes

Hi Wayne, thought the £1000+ saved would be better spent on holiday.
If you can get on Aer lingus at the time your return gets released it was costing 66 euro to upgrade to Business.
I priced at the time, flying 5th july i think, and then when return dates came available , had to keep an eye, the upgrades where cheap, if you waited a few days it jumped to 3 or 4 hundred euro

I priced Aer Lingus for next May and for us including a connecting flight from Gatwick it was only coming in at around £70 per person more expensive than VA PE.

I like that you will be clearing immigration in Dublin too from later this year.

I am still tempted but am waiting for December flight sales before booking anything as I would rather be spending less money rather than more!

Unfortunatley Econ just ins't an option as DH finds the lack of leg room too uncomfortable and it makes him miserable! I blame DD as before she came along we paid for exit row seats and had no problems with leg room!

I'm not 100% sure but once in the past when I looked up an AL flight in the past (it seemed a little bit too cheap at the time so I checked out their website direct), I think it turned out you're 'just' getting the big seats, you're not getting the extra frills of service and food.

If so, it might not be a biggy to some because the seats are obviously the best bit but if also looking for the pampering element, it might be lacking.

Everything seems inline with other Business class services. 3 x 32kg luggage pp, lounges etc but I have never used them. http://www.aerlingus.com/travelinformation/businessclass/

Yes the use to do it like that when you could pay to upgrade but didn't get the full service but they changed it recently now you receive the full business class service :)

We flew with Aer Lingus from Glasgow to Orlando in 2005. Unfortunately it was in economy though.
The flights were great, seatback TV's ok food and friendly Irish service. It was all great apart from the annoying young couple who kissed (noisily I might add) for almost the whole flight

We got the flights for about £280 each iirc. They were actually running the flight as a charter for a trial for most of 2005. At check in they were selling the business class seats for £150 each way.

I wouldn't hesitate to fly with them again if the price was right.
