dual check in dates

Hi forum

So i'm going to SSR in september for a week. I booked the week through RCI. I would really like to go to AKV also, if the rooms opens up, just for a few days.

IF AKV becomes available while im staying at SSR, can I then make a reservation through a DVC member in my name without causing too much mixup in the system?

This way I would have a reservation for SSR for a week, but during that week I might also have a reservation for 2-3 days at AKV. At the end of the reservation for AKV I would go back to SSR and finish up my stay there?

Is this possible?

I don't think your name can be the lead on two reservations at the same time.

You can talk to them all you like, but the system won't allow it. That's just the problem with Disney software.

I don't know if it's a software issue or a policy issue. A couple of months ago I booked 2 reservations online and listed myself as lead on both.

Yes, possible. You might have some issues with MBs working at one location or another. I'd think getting key cards should take care of that though and is the route I'd take vs the front desk CMs trying to fix so your MBs work correctly. Or, use an abbreviation of your name foe the AKV reservation and don't link it to your MDE. If part of the reason is getting the Dining plan for only the AKV part then I would essentially set up a second "you". Your middle name instead of your first, just your initials, something like that. It might be overkill on not messing your MDE up but IMO better than dealing with MDE issues.

Likely so. If there's a shortening (nickname) I'd likely do that instead though. Or initials so that no one is tempted to correct and you don't confuse which is your main account.

And, as I mentioned it may be overkill and you wouldn't need to. I just know I've had enough MB issues opening hotel rooms and I didn't have 2 rooms booked that the one time I needed to be on a second room I used a nickname and made a "second" me. That worked well. If you have park tickets you would still use your SSR MB's for entry though as they won't be attached to the pseudo you.

Unfortunately I dont have a nickname or shortening of my name or at least we don't use that in my country

Say my name is Niels Petersen(dont what to post my real name here), would you just shorten it by writing: NP as lead name and nothing else?

Is there another adult traveling with you? You can always put them as lead. If not, I might just add a middle initial to one and not the other. I do have to say that I have been lead on two that overlapped because we change resorts most years mid trip and I typically book the change day at both places so we are not homeless and it has not caused a problem. In addition, I once booked a room with my DD23 as lead with the other guests and when she couldn't come, I was still able to check in because I was a guest..it was last minute so I didn't even think to call and get it changed and it all went without a problem.

I don't have any middle initial in my full name, but I could add one to the reservation, as long as I don't have to show any ID which includes my middle initial.

It's absolutely possible. The only issue is that your magic band won't work on both rooms. You'll need to get a key card for access for one of the rooms. Unfortunately, there's no way to know which room won't work.

Yes, it should.

Since it sounds like there isn't anything with the DP for the AKV room I'd just go with that no linking to MDE and keycard. If for some reason it matched up automatically then don't give them your MB to check at AKV and just ask for the key card.

No dining plans for the AKV room, the ones we have are linked to my MDE account.

Ill ask for the keycard and won't give them my MB at check in.

Actually, we have been able to get into the second one before we left the first one. We got the text that our room was ready for the 2nd while still at the first. So my DS and his wife headed over early and were able to get in while the rest of us slept in and stayed at the old resort for the day. Now, my DS was listed as a guest in both, not lead, so don't know if that made a difference. But for awhile that day, some of us were in the first room while they enjoyed the second
