DU vs. AAA

Do you think that DU has better rates than AAA? I got a quote for POFQ thsi morning from AAA for 630 including taxes for 4 nights in October. I know they will look up further discounts for you but is the Visa cardholder discount less than AAA discount?
Also are the codes we are all waiting for for October for room only or are they usually for packages. I was going to just book room for now and get tickets later so that I have more flexibility to cancel if needed.

Dreams Unlimited will search for discounts for you--including AAA, and adjust your rate if a discount becomes available that you are eligible for!
I like to book my own trips, but we've used DU for several years now, and have always been thrilled. You can't go wrong when they watch for discounts for you!

DU and AAA should all have access to the same rates and discounts. I like DU because they are Disney Specialists and, also, because they will monitor for any new discounts and try their best to snag them for you. I am not aware that AAA will do that for you. Oh, I'm sure that if you call AAA to tell them about a discount, then they might try to get it for you. But that's exactly why I use DU. I can make my ressie with DU and then let it go.

But DU can't book a package at the AAA rate, can they? I thought you could only do that through a AAA agent?

That's correct. Only AAA can book a package so if you are booking for anything other than the room, you have to call AAA. The thing is that some agents through AAA are wonderful and some not so good. Once you find a good one, you can't go wrong!

I just received quotes from my AAA TA and Dreams unlimited ( 8/7/2007) for travel dates April 26, 2008 to May 3, 2008.

2 preferred rooms at POP, 5 adults.
6 day base tickets.
Magical Express transportation.

AAA quote: $2771.55 with AAA travel insurance for 5: $3011.55.

DU quote: $3041.59 with Disney insurance for 5: $3341.34.

Travel insurance quotes:
AAA $48. per person.
DU Disney $59.95 per person.

I am not positive about this, but I recall that the AAA insurance also offers better coverage than the Disney insurance.
