I booked my original ressies thru DCL. Then, I switched them over to DU in order to get the $200 discount. Since I'm a first time cruiser, am I also entitled to the $25 on board as well? I don't want to appear greedy but $25 is $25!

Thanks!

Sure, I don't see why not. The first time cruiser credit comes out of Disney's pocket, not your TA's. Shouldn't be a problem.

Sure, if you are a first-time cruiser just e-mail your agent and ask to have the REF code added to your reservation. If it is an eligbile sailiing date you will get the onboard credit. :)

I recently booked the 4 day cruise for 2004. I asked for the first-time cruisers' credit. My TA checked with Disney and was told that at this time it was only available through 2003 cruises. Has anyone been able to get it for their 2004 cruise?

No, it is not available past 2003, unfortunately.

You might want to consider transferring your reseervation from DCL to Dreams Unlimited. They are running a discount special which you can view by clicking the "Discounts" at the top of this page. They were able to save me $200 off the total coast of my cruise!!!

If interested, they'll e-mail you on how to make the transfer. Well worth it considering the savings!

Just saw that you booked thru a TA. If you mean a DCL CM, then you can make the transfer. Otherwise, if you booked thru an outside TA, as job courtsey, (sp?) DU will not transfer the booking. If, however, it's far enough ahead of your cruising time, you could consider cancelling then re-booking thru DU.

I agree that if you can save a lot more money with DU, maybe a transfer is good, but I believe since she already booked with a TA, Dreams can't accept the transfer. With that said, maybe her TA is less than Dreams is. I have checked two different cruises with DU and each time my regular cruise TA beats DU by at least $100 (once by $400). I'd love to book a cruise with DU, but they aren't always the cheapest. If it was $25 or so, I'd go with DU, but it's always at least $100.

Yes, I very much wanted to book through DU but the TA I went with beat their price by $400.

1.5 weeks ago I booked our first-ever cruise through cruise.com for July 26, 2003 Eastern cruise. What is this "first time cruisers" savings I see mentioned here? Would I still be able to get this and is it shipboard credit or savings off cruise price. Is it per booking, per stateroom, per adult... or what?

thanks for the info

Hi, Penny.

I also booked through cruise.com but my TA had never heard of the first-time cruisers credit. Ask your TA to add REF code to your reservation. If yours is an eligible sailing date, it gives you $25 shipboard credit (per stateroom). Your TA can double check directly with Disney as to eligibility.

Have a great cruise. Wish mine was this summer!

I just booked my first cruise with MouseEarVacations.com. I booked for may 2004. I received a $25.00 onboard credit. Depending on the cat. you pick, I saw you could get up to $120.00 on board credit. I was told at the time I booked that I would be getting $75.00 on board credit. I was really happy. BUT AFTER I booked i received an email stating that Disney would only allow a $25.00 credit. (we have Cat. 8 Deck 7) I was very dissapointed, since that was the whole reason I booked w/them so quickly. But I guess $25.00 is better than $0.00 and at least I've got my trip all booked.

Pat,

thanks for the information. I'll certainly give my TA a call and ask her to check into this as we booked 2 connecting staterooms for our family of 5. She knew we were first time cruisers but did not mention this credit and seemed to be a very experienced TA. Any credit would be great as I'm planning on at least an occassional glass of wine or tropical drink @ dinner!!

thanks again,
