I'd love to hear some suggestions/opinions for restaurants for dinner atDowntown Disney.

Thanks

Well, depending on your budget....

Fulton's is wonderful. We also had a great lunch at Cap'n Jacks. I don't care for Rainforest-service was very lacking.

Just returned from Disney in March. Here were our favorite eating spots in DTD.

Lunch/Dinner suggestions:

Bongo's Cuban Cafe (Westside) - try the Cuban Club, this huge sandwich can be shared easily, plus comes with a huge portion of fries. Great entertainment in evening. Fun atmosphere, good service. Lunch for 2 cost $13.85

Capt'n Jacks Seafood (Marketplace) - Good seafood, simply prepared, very fresh. Don't pass up the New England Clam Chowder, or peel n' eat shimp (double portion is enough to be considered an entree). My DH had the stuffed grouper (great crab meat stuffing) plus tasty fresh veggies. Excellent Key Lime pie!!
Dinner for 2 $51.17 (full meals with drinks, appetizer, dessert)

Snacks/Desserts

The Gourmet Pantry (Marketplace) - wonderful desserts! Excellent Strawberry cream cake, Turtle cheesecake. Also they make wonderful grilled sandwiches and have fresh salads to go. 2 large desserts $8.42

Dezert (Pleasure Island) - more desserts yum, yum. Excellent Shortbread Two Chocolate cookies (very large), New York style cheesecake with fresh Strawberries. Also good coffee! 2 large desserts $7.14

Hope this helps!

We love Bongo's and Wolfgang Puck's. They are bith chains and we have them here in South Florida - but we love them in DTD too!

DH and I liked Bongo's. The atmosphere is great, the food is good. I think you should definitely try it! Don't remember what we had, but I remember it was tasty:p

We absolutely LOVE the Rainforest Cafe... great food, fantastic atmsophere and it's just plain fun!!!

Give House of Blues a try, we have eaten here on our last 3 trips and really love it. Try the jambalaya it is great and there is enough for 2 to share. We always get an order of the rosemary cornbread to share with our meal also. We have also eaten at Bongo's and wolfgang Pucks and we enjoyed them both.

House of Blues! That's the only place we usually eat at DTD. In fact it's our "first night" ritual. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is fun! We have tried several different things and have yet to be disappointed. We give the ribs, catfish nuggets, and Shrimp Po Boy especially high marks as they are our favorite.

RFC is usually our 1st night tradition, too!! But, this year, it will be O'hana! Can't wait to try it! ;)

(don't get me wrong, we still love to go to RFC just for the atmosphere!)

We really enjoy Wolfgang Puck Cafe...not the express and not upstairs. So many good choices. We like it so much we don't get around to trying Bongo's or House of Blues. Portabello is good too. We don't care for Fulton's or Rainforest Cafe.

We loved Bongo's, WP's upstairs, and Fulton's
WP"s was our favorite...food and drinks to die for and the upstairs is very relaxing. Service was unbelievable. We had 3 servers waiting on our table and it was just the 2 of us.

Portobelloo Yacht Club and Captain Jack's have never disappointed us.

Fulton's Crab House seemed overpriced with the service so-so. We liked it much better when it was the Empress Lily with the Empress Room upstairs. Very expensive, but worth every penny.

Planet Hollywood was okay for the novelty, but didn;t rate a second visit.

I love Portobello Yacht Club - have to eat there every trip!

Some people don't like RFC, but I for one really enjoy the atmosphere and the food isn't bad at all.

Wolfgang Puck's food is a treat as well!

I love House of Blues. Make sure to get the cornbread. Bongo's is good too.

Another vote for Fultons's. We ate at Capn Jacks in July and were not impressed with it, felt that it had went down hill from previous year but that just IMHO. Planet Hollywood is also good and you can't beat Ghiadelli's for ice-cream.

Our favorite is Rainforest Cafe... great food & awesome atmosphere!!!

I'm always amazed to hear the differing opinions that people have of certain restaurants. DW and I ate at Bongos our last trip and it was the absolutely worst experience we have ever had at Dis.

It is funny ....how people feel about different restaraunts....I can honestly say.....knock on wood.......I've never had a bad meal at wdw.....oh and we loved Bongo's

My DH and I have eaten at Bongos, Cap't Jack's, Fulton's, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, and Wolfgang Puck's (down and upstairs). I would have to say that Wolfgang Puck's upstairs was my favorite. It is much quieter and romantic than down stairs. We do like to go to the bars just to soak up the atmosphere in Bongos, and Cap't Jacks and will sometimes order an apetizer. By far Planet Hollywood is our least favorite. We have never had a good meal there, though it is fun to have a drink and walk around. Enjoy! ;)
