Not sure if this is the right place for this Q, but wasn't sure where it fit better.

What are the things we should make sure we see/do while in DTD? Any neat little secrets?

Earl of Sandwich :thumbsup2 has become a must do and I am not one who actually likes sandwiches, but the bread they use is so tasty and prices are insanely reasonable for food at Disney.

Not sure if that was what were looking for, but for me and my family its become a must do :rotfl:

A second vote for Earl of Sandwich. Not really a secret, but the treats at Goofy's candy store are even more tasty than normal treats.

If you have kids they play movies in the Christmas store. We got caught there last year during a storm. It was fun. We always go in to shop. Me and my son sat down and watched the movies for a bit. It was fun.

I agree if you are referring to the ones you have custom made lilke the pretzels and stuff...of course I would rather not even guess how many calories I manage to pack on to those treats

For our family it's stopping at Ghiardelli's for some ice cream, Goofy's Candy Company for goodies back at the room, a trip to Magnetron for a few magnets, browsing the World of Disney Store and the Disney Pin Store and just walking around, maybe grabbing a seat near the lake.

Our must do's are a late lunch at Rain Forest Cafe. Playing around in the toy store (Mr. Potato Head) & the Lego store. After last year, I'll always let me kids get their faces painted by the ones that set up shop there. They did an outstanding job. And don't forget a Christmas ornament at the Christmas store. :santa:

Definitely the World of Disney Store and Once Upon a Toy. Maybe an ice cream at Ghiradelli's (not sure of spelling), eating at the Rainforest is fun, but your little one might get scared, there is a little slide over by the McDonalds/Lego store area.

We were there a couple weeks ago and our favorite restaurant was Wolfgang Puck Express. It is a nice place (with waitstaff) with wonderful food and if you're on the DDP it counts as a cs credit! We also enjoyed the new shop TrendE and the new TRex. My DH and DD rode the Characters in Flight balloon and loved it! They were able to see all the park icons, except the castle which is blocked by the Contemporary, and took some amazing pictures!

I really like the cute little windows in the lego shop - the market place area is my favourite part of DTD and really nice to have a little wander about :goodvibes

Earl of Sandwich was great- counts as a counter service if you are on the dining plan.

Goofy's candy store has lots of things you can get with snack credits. We ended up with 9 snack credits at the end of the trip and the kids got cotton candy, Pez dispensers, mickey shaped rice Krispie treats. etc.

My 9 year old loved Disneyquest. It was in our package so it didnt cost anything and we spent one rainy evening in there. It was perfect.

When DD was little she loved DTD. We would spend time playing with Legos, and in Once Upon A Toy playing with Mr. Potato Head.
A lot of the stores are fun to browse in, and Disney is great about letting kids touch. We could spend an hour just playing with the stuffed animals at World of Disney.

Animal lovers will appreciate walking through the Rain Forest Cafe gift shop. Often they do presentations with live animals outside. Bring a pocket full of pennies to pitch into the (fake) alligator's mouth in the fountain out front.

The most fun, was the water-spouting sidewalk. Kids and water are such a natural combination and though it always seems to begin with a cat-and-mouse style game of trying NOT to get wet... it always ended in being drenched.
It helps if you know it's there and plan ahead (bathing suit under clothes, towels). But on a hot day clothing dries relatively quickly.

T-Rex is a lot of fun. I have not done it yet, but I think Characters in Flight ballon ride will be a must do for at least this next trip.
Goofy's is a must - Butterfinger pretzel stx and build our own slushies (for DD5).

We usually go to DTD day 1 and let DD pick out her princess outfit for her BBB day and she gets a Disney tattoo outside of world of disney.

I like to go into WOD and find a place where I'm not in the way of the traffic and just look up. It's a feast for the eyes. I can spend quite a bit of time doing this - but then I'm not a big shopper so all that stuff isn't "calling" to me :lmao:.

Lego store (beware of the playground, kids never want to leave!)
train ride (there is a fee)
ice cream from Ghiradelli's
potato heads

To me it is more of a shopping trip with some side distractions for the kids. Not a must-do, but a nice change of pace from the parks.

Magic Shop over on the West Side.

I stopped in there during my last visit to DTD and wound up with my own private 30 minute comedy/magic show as I was the only customer in the store. The guys were hilarious! I’ve never laughed so hard before! Of course, I wound up walking out after spending some $$$ on coin tricks that I still haven’t gotten around to teaching myself how to do…. :rolleyes1

We are at the world right now, Friday night we went to DTD and ate at TRex, the food was 'ok' but the atmosphere was def cool! We were in the Sequoia room, it had alot of dinos. The kids loved it, we thought it was overpriced but I tried to remind myself it was dinner and entertainment ;)

After that we went to a few stores, love World of Disney. We saw the lego creations and then stopped at the pavillion right outside World of Disney and there is a CM who performs (can't remember his name sadly). Anyways they have a seating area, you can sit watch, watch him dance, do games and teach the audience how to dance.

We did the YMCA, he taught the new "hannah montana" dance, the Thriller Dance, and several other dances.

Both my dd's loved it, it's funny, fun, and very cute. If you have some time to sit and relax, you'll def enjoy the show. We probably sat there from around 7 to 10 when he closed the show.

I think he performs and Fri/Sat nights :)

We always go to Giradelli's(sp?) for ice cream for "lunch" on every trip. Our kids love the Lego store and the Toy Store--DD loves doing the Potato heads and DS loves to build his own light saber. I love the Christmas shop!!
