DTD - Must Do List

I am surprised no one has mentioned this but whenever I go to DTD I love to visit DisneyQuest! Now if you don't have a Water Parks Fun & More added to your park hopper you do have to pay to get in, but four stories of video games and virtual reality fun is an amazing way to spend a rainy day!

Our kids love the Lego store and the Toy Store--DD loves doing the Potato heads and DS loves to build his own light saber. I love the Christmas shop!!

Build your own light saber? My DBF's BIL is a massive star wars fan and i think he's going to LOVE that! does anyone know if its just there you can do this or if you can do it in the park too? (Maybe HS?) Thanks!

I can't wait to go to Goofys Candy Co. and get me some amazzing Treats!!

I absolutely adore Downtown Disney. I used to like it much more, though, when Pleasure Island was fully operational and open. However, it is still one of my favorite places in WDW.

We always go to Earl of Sandwich for lunch. My favorite stores there are Tren-D and Pin Traders. I also enjoy Art of Disney, Basin, and World of Disney. Walking around DTD is a very pleasant thing to do in the first half of the day. There are very few people there when it first opens and during the majority of the morning. Sometimes there is live entertainment by the water like bands, etc. You'll have a great time! :)

Thank you for all the great suggestions!

Does DTD open at a certain time year round, or is there a site I need to consult to see when it opens?

We were at DTD earlier this month and spent a great evening there with friends. We planned to let our kids get wet in the sprinkler area, so they wore their bathing suits and we brought a change of clothes.

Check out the DJ guy while you're there, I think he's a regular. He was on the stage and we were all in the bleachers and he was playing some awesome classic songs and teaching the crowds how to dance!!! Fun fun fun for both adults and children alike!

Then our plan was to take a ride on the hot air balloon, but the winds were up and it was not operating that evening. :( We even went back another day to try again, winds were high again! Oh well, we'll fit that in our next trip.

The Lego store was great. My daughter (5) made her three little guys and had them proudly displayed in her little necklace case. They seem to be a wonderful souveniur to her from our trip there. The outdoor Lego area is alot of fun too.

We didn't eat at the T-Rex restaurant but the kids did go inside and do a dino/bone dig. Free!!! Ha ha, and they really liked it. You can pan for gems also, I think it's $5 or $10 for a bag of gems that you can pan for. :)

I had more fun there on this trip with our kids than on any other trip.

What day and what time is the DJ guy there? This would be fun for my kids on our upcoming trip.

We've come to really enjoy DTD. We had never taken the time to go until a couple of trips ago. We haven't been in all the shops or tried all the restaurants yet, but so far, our favorites are: Activities like the magic show, music, bird show, etc; WOD browsing, design a t-shirt store, Art of Disney, pins anywhere, Earl of Sandwich, Wolfgang Pucks place, the ice cream place, store browsing in general, and walking around/sitting and people watching. :goodvibes
