I will be staying in Best Western Lake Buena Vista DTD hotel Dec 16-21, 2013. Injured foot and will rent ECV from Walker (thanks for recommendations on this site). Do the buses from DTD hotels to Disney parks accomodate these ECV? Thanks all.

Yes they do not sure if every bus dose but they have buses that can accommodate them but their buses are not as big and wide as Disney. They have steps and will have a lift for the ECV keep in mind they drop off in charter parking lots so at mk they drop you off at the ttc and then you have to take the monorail or ferry

They are supposed to but half the time they could not accommodate me so my husband drove. On the one night I went on my own they had to call a second bus to get me. I was not happy since they knew they had a guest with a wheelchair and where they picked up was remote and I had to wait alone for that bus.

Sorry thy happened to you it bot right it a private bus line that contract with them hotels. They should all be taking wheelchairs plus as you said if tey know they have a guest staying hat needs it they should be aware of if. Specially since their buses are low floor buses they should have no problems I know bonnet creek uses mears and they use the tour style buses so they have less buses for wheelchairs. But if every bus can take one then they need to. Even though Disney transportation buses not perfect I still think out of the hotels in the area they are much better and have better quality buses that are more friendly to guest on ecv and wheelchairs.

I know mk bus station getting new stops for the new buses disney bought I think their rumor that they will add some charter spots. So maybe if they do they can pick up at mk instead of ttc.

Thank you all for your rapid responses. This is the best informaiton center in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!! This ECV experience is a first for me and I appreciate everyone's help. I made this reservation 6 months ago and can't cancel now. I was afraid I would be "stuck" in the hotel due to my foot injury. I will have my van with me so I may drive to DTD and take a Disney bus from there. Anyone done this before?

With all the construction at dtd parking might be hard and the fact you have to take a resort bus and then transfer to a park bus. Since their no bus from the parks to dtd except if their still testing ak to dtd route. You might be better off driving to the parks or using the resort transportation and hoping for the best.

You seem to be quite informed. I am a "Disney Original" having stayed there when they opened and every year after that for about 20 years or so. This is the first time I will be visiting with a disabiliby and never considered the obstacles prior to this visit. I kinow during previous visits I could drive to Fort Wilderness and park for free. Then ride the bus/boat/monorail to get around. Not sure I can still do this.
