Doesn't DTD have 4th of July fireworks? We are arriving on the 4th & were hoping to see the fireworks without going into the park. Might just breakdown & buy park admission for one more day. I think it's only a few dollars to add it on. :)

Unfortunatly I think Epcot and MK are the only parks with special fireworks for the 4th. But there are several locations all over Orlando with Fireworks if you didnt want to buy a park pass.

Whoa! there! Let me let you in on something.................the best place to watch the MK fireworks is at the Ferry Landing. They stop charging for parking later in the day (however try to get there early enough so the lot isnt full) and just hang around, maybe resort hop a little and then go to the Ferry Landing and you'll see the MK fireworks AND the perimeter fireworks as they'll happen right at you!

They have fireworks at PI which is located in DTD :confused3

These are the same fireworks they shoot off every night. About 30 seconds worth. Only time they do more is the New Years Eve.

Here's an idea... and it's free. Because DTD does not have fireworks on the 4th, unless you mean the small ones at PI at 12am each night. You can take transportation over to MK, to the TTC, go to the Ferry Dock and watch the MK fireworks from there, music and all, and no crowds. OR... you can go to Ohana's which has a GREAT view of the fireworks get a ressie for about an hour before the fireworks get there atleast 1/2 hour before ressie and ask for a window table, we've always been lucky enough to get one and have seen all the holiday fireworks shows from there. It is soooo pretty! They do extra ones for the 4th and the water parade stopped infront of Ohanas and did patriotic images. Pretty cool. I highly recommend it, no crowds, A/C and a great view! Well worth the $25 bucks for dinner, $10 or $4 for kiddos. Hey, now I'm thinking of going again.

This is from www.allearsnet.com

To celebrate the Fourth of July, Disney will be trotting out some of the public's favorite former fireworks displays. At Disney-MGM Studios, Sorcery in the Sky, the fireworks show celebrating the magic of motion pictures, will be performed at 9 p.m. At 9 p.m. at the Magic Kingdom, a special edition of Fantasy in the Sky, with extra pyrotechnics, will run. IllumiNations will be presented at Epcot at 10 p.m. on that evening.

So, both Magic Kingdom and the Studios will be offering fireworks that you "cannot" see any other night while you are at Disney.

One place you might consider watching the fireworks is from the beach of the Polynesian or Fort Wilderness. Somebody suggested on another thread -- taking the boat from Fort Wilderness to the MK right before the fireworks at the MK begin and seeing them from the boat.

Even though the fireworks will be great, I wouldn't use us one of my days in the park just so I could be in the park to see the fireworks.

Not so. For the past 3 years I've been at PI on the 4th and they have an expanded fireworks show. It's usually performed on the 4th and a couple of days surrounding it.

Indeed - I haven't heard anything for this year, but last year they did expand the fireworks for the 4'th of July for several nights, with the 4'th of july ( 12:00:01am ) being the longest of them all. I would bet they will be doing the same this year..

I'll be there.. :) Last year's were impressive - second only to New Years Eve, and yes, I got to watch both firework shows.

I would go to ohana's for dinner.

We went to the beach on this past trip and watched wished and it was great!! I would recommend that!!!

Be careful trying to watch fireworks from the Ply beaches on July 4th. Often they check ID because of the crowds--it is important that those paying to stay there have the opportunity to enjoy its perks. Other nights it is not so crowded that you would displace resort guests, but July 4th it is a prime time and the Poly a prime area.
